I think that it adds much insight into just how mercenary and racist Trump has shown himself to be; it was reported in court documents that Trump employee stated that employees were instructed to steer Blacks to properties of Trump’s choosing and to exclude them from renting in properties that Trump kept White; this employee stated that staff was required to put a “C” on the top-right side of rental application that stood for “colored”! I was a V.P. for a Property Management Co. in the Chicago area for most of my career and the facts of this case infuriated me! I think this would help to get out the vote and I consider it necessary knowledge for any voter considering voting for Trump! Trump finally settled the case (after fighting it for 3 years, I believe)!

Yes, it is possible.Generally speaking, rental applications are considered on the basis of credit and ongoing stable income as that demonstrates the likelihood of being able to afford to pay. However, there is no law that says precisely how a landlord must qualify a tenant (there are plenty of laws that say how a landlord may NOT qualify a tenant). Using the Manhattan / NYC example, a landlord typically wants to see 40x the monthly rent in annual income for the tenants (meaning if the rent is $3000/mo, an annual income of $120,000 or more).If you have no income or can’t prove it, that might not be the end of the road. Some landlords, including one really big one that has some of the nicest most expensive rental properties in Manhattan (and San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Miami … ) uses, “Stated Income Voice Verified.” That means they ask you how much money you make and who they can call to verify that information. It could be your mother or your veterinarian if you want to play that game. Another landlord who shall remain nameless will take anything you write on paper and approve you.If you don’t want to play games, here are some better options:-”Offer” 1 year of rent up front. The key word is, “Offer.” Technically, rent regulate buildings (421A stabilized and the like) cannot ask for upfront rent, but, if you offer it, well…-Get a guarantor who shows good income. Typically the guarantor will need to have 2x the income that the tenant would need to show.-Arrange a ‘back rent’ situation, where you pay the end months of the lease up front and then pay as normal until you reach that point (uncommon)-Arrange an automatic payment situation with the landlord or a third party service-Rent from a small landlord who will negotiate something with you.

There is already a per country limit per year for Greencard. So, if the similar policy is applied to H1B, there may be a possibility to limit H1Bs from a given country in the future. But, if were to happen, here is what I believe would happen:Everyone boards their flight and returns to India.30% of them start their own companies in India.All the companies in the U.S that employed on H1B visa holders would be struggling to find replacements to get a U.S Citizen with the same commitment to perform the job with the same salary.The immigration attorney business goes into a recession.40% of the U.S Universities will be struggling to attract Indian students on F1 visa.30% of the professors in U.S Universities without tenure will be removed from their jobs.Canada, New Zealand, Australia will be the new USA for Indians.USD-INR rate will go down atleast by 15% in 1 year.The rental prices for the apartments in metro areas like SFO, NJ, Chicago, Detroit, Houston etc will go down by 20% in 1 year.Last but not the least, 30% of the people sent back on H1B will be back to the USA on L1B/L1A visas !Special mention from Clay Schumacher :11. Well, ANY country person on H1B “should” work per the H1B LCA salaries. The H1B LCA salaries are set by the US Government - not Indian companies. All the US Companies hire any H1B person only after an “approved H1B LCA petition” given by the US Government. It’s only the H1B LCA salaries set by the US Government to blame. Even all the H1B holders want the LCA salaries to be increased !
