Who is a better choice for POTUS 2020, Trump or Joe Biden & why?I’ve considered myself a political independent for a long time, I did not support Trump or Hillary in 2016, but this year I will be casting a vote for the incumbent president Donald J. Trump. But why? Let me explain.Reason 1. The EconomyAccording to the World Bank, the United States experienced GDP growth in 2017 (Trump’s first year as president) and GDP growth in 2018 as well. There was a bit of a decline in 2019 and COVID-19 will surely decrease GDP growth worldwide including the United States for 2020. However, according to an analysis from The Balance, President Trump created 6.6 million jobs for Americans in his first term as president. Obama on the other hand created 8.9 million over eight years.Joe Biden’s economic policy will not help the United States recover from this year’s worldwide economic depression. Joe Biden said he would “only increase taxes on those making more than $400,000/year.” However, according to an analysis from the Tax Foundation, Joe Biden’s tax hikes would both directly and indirectly affect the American middle class. A 1.9 percent decline in after-tax income would be seen for the average taxpayer. 1.9 percent may not seem like much, but for many, it could radically change their life. Biden also proposed to raise corporate income taxes from the current 21% to 28%. This would further discourage corporations from operating within the United States. Biden’s economic plans have so far been “tax the rich, and we’ll figure out the rest”, but there comes a time when you run out of money to tax. Corporations will most likely leave the United States to avoid paying higher taxes, and the average American will have less money, which will most likely lead to further economic recession.On top of that, Joe Biden said he would be willing to shut down the U.S. economy once again if it is recommended by scientists. Biden knows he can’t live up to this “promise”, you simply cannot shut down the country and expect the economy to do well.Reason 2. Criminal Justice ReformAccording to the Brennan Center, the First Step (Formerly Incarcerated Reenter Society Transformed Safely Transitioning Every Person) Act cut unnecessarily long federal sentences and improved conditions within federal prisons. According to a report from the United States Department of Justice, around 3,000 people serving outdated sentences for crack cocaine crimes had been resentenced to shorter prison sentences as of May 2019. Another 3,100 prisoners were released from prison under the First Step Act in July 2019. Alice Marie Johnson, a former federal prisoner and criminal justice advocate was sentenced to life prison without parole for her involvement in cocaine trafficking in 1996. She was pardoned and released by President Trump in June 2018. She later spoke at the RNC about President Trump’s work regarding criminal justice, saying that he actually “got it done.” The First Step Act will release thousands of more prisoners who were serving outdated prison sentences, non-violent offenses, and many others who truly deserve a second chance in society.Let’s talk about Joe Biden and his 1994 Crime Bill. The 1994 Crime Bill includes a lot. However, the fact that it contributed to mass incarceration which disproportionately affected Black and Brown communities cannot be disputed. The Crime Bill led to aggressive policing and over policing of minority neighborhoods. A man responsible for tearing apart countless Black and Brown families should not be running for President of the United States. A man that helped created the current system should not be acting like he had nothing to do with it. A man who had countless opportunities to deliver criminal justice reform in the 36 years he was in Congress and 8 years as Vice President, should be held responsible for the countless lives taken under the current system he helped create.Plus, Biden’s running mate, US Senator and former Attorney General of California has a terrible criminal justice record. According to articles from several newspapers, it was evident that Kamala Harris incarcerated many black and brown men for simple marijuana possession. She even kept a presumptively innocent man on death row by denying the release of evidence for the case.Reason 3. Border Security and ImmigrationBefore I say anything, let me be clear, I am not against immigration in any form or shape. My family emigrated to the United States from Scotland centuries ago. All Americans, except for Native Americans and indigenous people are immigrants. However, I believe borders exist for a reason. Borders mark the beginning of one country and the end of another. Undocumented people from Central and South America cannot expect to enter another country without proper documentation. For example, you cannot expect to run a red light and not get a traffic ticket. There are rules and international laws in places regarding entering and exiting countries. When individuals intentionally decide to not obey the rules and international laws they may face the consequences. Trump has been very clear about this.Biden said that he would give 11 million undocumented immigrants (those who have illegally entered or are illegally remaining the United States) American citizenship. This would only fuel illegal entry into the United States. This could actually negatively effect the undocumented individual. How? Most likely they won’t be able to get a job, buy a house, or even survive in the United States. It’s not like Biden can magically produce 11 million jobs and housing units overnight. I simply see this as another empty and unrealistic promise from Joe Biden.Reason 4. Racial IssuesIt’s important to understand that the Biden campaign’s recent attacks on Trump for “refusing to condemn white supremacy” is completely ridiculous. I’ve done extensive and thorough research and found videos of Trump condemning the KKK, white supremacist organizations, and David Duke way before 2020. In fact, Trump is an ally to people of color.While Trump didn’t “save” HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) as he once claimed, he definitely supported further federal funding for HBCUs. Trump and Republican Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina also helped create opportunity zones for economically disadvantaged communities, the majority of these communities tend to have significant black and other minority populations. According to The White House, opportunity zones received $52 billion worth of investment, this helped rebuild houses, schools, business, and other community facilities. This also helped created around 500,000 new jobs in the opportunity zones.Meanwhile, the most Joe Biden has ever done for the minority community is make a social media post saying “Black Lives Matter”. Ironic, considering how much damage he has done to the very community he is claiming to support.Reason 5. Foreign PolicyThere hasn’t been a president like President Trump when it comes to foreign policy. Although I was initially skeptical about his foreign policy plans when he laid it out in 2020, Trump dealt with China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea very well. The United States won the Trade War against China under President Trump’s leadership, the United States was able to maintain a neutral, yet not completely loving relationship with Russia, President Trump took out Iranian terrorist Major General Soleimani, and Trump became the first ever US President to meet with the Supreme Leader of North Korea.According to the Economic Policy Institute (EPI), NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) costed us millions of jobs over the decades. President Trump was able to replace the terrible NAFTA with the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement). Among the many Americans who benefitted from USMCA, farmers and ranchers, and small businesses benefitted the most from USMCA.President Trump was able to destroy ISIS and wiped away their presence that grew under the Obama Administration. The leader of ISIS, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi committed suicide after it became evident that President Trump wasn’t going to let ISIS continue to terrorize communities in the Middle East and all over the world, unlike how Joe Biden and Barack Obama gave up on fighting against terrorism.President Trump was also able to broker peace deals between Bahrain and Israel, and the United Arab Emirates and Israel.Reason 6. CampaigningPresident Trump actually seems interested in campaigning, unlike Joe Biden. Sure, many are worried about COVID-19 and the possible impact that in-person rallies could have on the spread of the virus, but that still doesn’t give Biden an excuse to completely go dormant during this election cycle. It is undeniable that Joe Biden has spent way too much time in his home in Delaware. Meanwhile, President Trump has had many rallies. Trump is working for us, but Biden not so much.It’s become clear through the entire Hunter Biden corruption scandal that Joe Biden isn’t the friendly old politician man that we all thought he was. Arguably, the Biden family may be more corrupt than the Clinton family.ConclusionAs previously said, I identify as a political independent. I’ve voted for Democrats, Republicans, and Independents for public office. But after two horrific nominees from the Democratic Party in a row, it truly makes me wonder if the Democratic Party is more interested in satisfying its Liberal Establishment than its voter base.Like many other voters in the United States, I’m not in 100% agreement with President Trump. Not all Trump voters think the same way. Maybe the reason I’m voting for Trump is radically different from the reason someone else is voting for Trump. But when I go to the polling station this November, I know that I will be voting for something. I will be voting for economic stability and prosperity. I will be voting for safer communities. I will be voting for further development of communities where the population is facing poverty. I will be voting for legal immigration. I will be voting for the American worker. I will be voting for a great United States. However, for Biden voters, the story is much different. They will be voting for anything. Anything other than Trump. They believe the media’s narrative which demonizes the president for every action he takes. I would rather stand for something than fall for anything. That is why I will be voting for President Trump this year.

Your choice which people, which candidate. The one who could talk about Syria and peshmerga fighters — or the one who said “bomb the s**t out of ‘em” and didn’t want to talk about grabbin’ p***y because he was so distraught (oh, mercy, Rhett!) over beheadings.She beat him by 11 pts. on “the economy” but lost by 33 pts. on “immigration,” which Trump and his supporters said was killing the economy. So 22% of 130 million voters didn’t make with the connection with Trump’s basic premise: immigration and the economy are related. These voters were cool with the economy but still said Build That Wall for No Reason At All, Apparently!(Oddly 10% of people who want to build the Magical Mystery Wall voted for Hillary. They said the economy was poor and government needed change. The change it needed, though, was Republicans.Obama eked a stimulus out of the Republican Congress that created 6.4 million jobs in four years and kept 5.3 million from slipping into poverty. But Republicans blocked the second one entirely. Republicans also blocked a $50 billion jobs bill for retraining and infrastructure projects — much of which, presumably, would’ve helped the white working class. (Note that the Republican Senate, thinking Hillary would win, promised to continue investigating her “for years,” c**k blocking her the way they did Obama.)Moreover — Obama restructured the bailout for the American auto industry, including $21 billion in pension funds that would’ve been zeroed out if they’d all gone into receivership. It was more like a loan than a bailout, really, because automakers paid it all back. All the major cities in Michigan voted for Hillary — Detroit, Lansing, Kalamazoo, Muskegon — but Trump carried the state with rural voters who clearly didn’t make the connection with what drives the world outside their town limits.Why didn’t voters see past his wild, outrageous lies?Trump is a next-gen update from conservative media. In 2000, it was mostly Rush Limbaugh and Fox News. Now we’ve got sites, blogs, memes, social media, sponsored outrage up and down the bands of local and satellite radio. The country’s not getting dumber — but a lot of it’s getting angrier. Conservative media don’t inform — they incite. And the only thing they know about facts is they’re bad for business. (Like the economy, above.) (Like Republican obstructionism, above.)Conservative media is a Perpetual Aggravation Machine. Trump isn’t a bug, but he’s not a feature, either. He’s AI. He turned on his creators in the Republican leadership during the campaign and he threatened to crash the whole system near the end. He’s Skynet.Trump terrified a lot of voters with shrieking hordes on the southern border and legions of scimitar-carrying fanatics to the east and west. He probably could’ve convinced much of the northern states that Canadians were invading the U.S. to infect us with maple-flavored Zika and single-payer health care. He added visions of desolate, broken, bankrupt metropolitan areas and a vast and lawless hellscape of “inner cities.” That may explain, in part, his popularity with one-third of Latinos, Asians, and “Other” — nothing promotes national unity like a shared distrust of black people.So now people of color, Mexicans in particular, Muslims — not to mention women of all creeds, colors, and national origins advocating the sovereignty of their genitalia — lots of them took to the streets in very, very large numbers. Not because Hillary lost, but because the President-Elect of the United States of America has, at worst, an open contempt for ginormous swaths of the citizenry for whom he is responsible.
