My syllabus is totally incomplete. What should I do to crack UPSC Preliminary 2017 in a short time period?

Firstly, there is no short cut to success. However, to crack the preliminary exam in two months is possible, if you are not an absolute beginner. Let me lay out a rough plan for you. If you stick to this plan, I am pretty confident that you will clear the prelims. But you should stick to the plan regardless of what for the next two months.Subscribe to the insightsonindia prelims test series. Start solving one test paper a day. When solving the paper, solve it one question and answer at a time. That is, read the question, attempt it and then look at the answer. You should also keep a tab of your scores. If they have given any article link or referred to some portion in the textbook read that too.Plan to cover the following NCERT text books and chapters. I know that the list seems mind boggling and almost impossible to finish in two months. But it can be done, believe me. I have done it and hence I know. If you really want to clear the prelims, you will make sure you finish this no matter what. Since you have wasted time till now, stretch yourself in the coming two months.Class VI: Social Studies: Earth: Our Habitat: Chapter 8Class VI: Science : Chapter 7, 9, 16Class VII: Social Science: All chaptersClass VII: Science: All chaptersClass VII: History: Al ChaptersClass VIII: Resources and Development: All ChaptersClass VIII: Science: Chapters 1, 2, 7, 18Class VIII: History: All ChaptersClass IX: Social Science: Contemporary India: All Chapters (low priority)Class IX: Science: Chapter 14, 15Class X: Social Science: Contemporary India: All Chapters (low priority)Class X: Science: Chapter 14, 15, 16Class X: India and the contemporary World: All Chapters (low priority)Class XI: Both books of Geography completeClass XI: Chemistry: Part 2: Unit 14Class XI: Indian Economic Development: All ChaptersClass XI: Indian Fine Art: All ChaptersClass XII: Macro economicsClass XI: Indian constitution at work: All ChaptersClass XII: Biology: Chapters 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16Class XII: Themes in Indian history: All Chapters (Low priority)Plan to finish three chapters from Laxmikanth per day. This too is a very tough target. But again there is no gain without pain.Read the first volume of the economic survey and the first chapter of the second volume.Read the Budget highlights available in the ministry website. There is no need to read the newspaper for the next two months. Read the snippets of the past 4 months if you can. If you can’t, leave it and hope for the best. This is the best plan that you can adopt at this point of time. I can't guarantee that you will pass the preliminary because a lot of factors influence the outcome. But give this plan your best and hope for the best. I can vouch that this plan has served me well and there is no reason it shouldn't help you.All the best.PS: I would be greatly delighted to know how you progress with this plan and also what the outcome is. Let me know if you can.
