He also served on numerous deployments and detachments while attached to Naval Special Warfare and Defense Intelligence Agency elements.He received the Edwin T. Layton Leadership Award in fall of 2002 for leadership in the Intelligence Community.​He assumed the duties as the 15th Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy on August 29, 2018.

I still remember the first day I got in.. I was excited and happy and looking back today.. I thank god for his immense mercy in bringing a hundred of us from across India to one place to become a family...From studying frantically before exams to having fun in various events.. CMC is a haven for students wishing to explore themselves. The doctors are down to earth and are always ready to help, be it with studying or just listening to us.. And the seniors here are extremely helpful and caring. For someone who lives far away from home, hostel I'm sure... Is like a second home.Being a part of the governing body, either of the students association, women's or men's hostel helps learn administrative skills and diplomacy. Working for various events helps you discover your talent and also helps you learn how to work together as a team..CMC excels at academics in terms of encouraging students to be a part of various research projects and in encouraging students to attend various conferences. There are a lot of patients who come in from various parts of the country and doctors emphasize on learning the language of the patient to understand them better. The student exchange programmes and the secondary hospital programmes are a boon to the CMC student to visit various mission hospitals across India and certain institutions abroad to help them expand their knowledge.The community orientation programme, a month long visit to a village has personally made an impact on me as it made me aware of the common problems encountered by the people and how awareness can make a big difference in the rural setting. It has also helped us interact with students from other health sciences and to learn how to work together.On the whole.. Its amazing what CMC has done to help me discover myself...It is an amazing experience to be a part of this family.

“None.”The reason CMC is one of the best institutes is none of the consultants or Professors considers himself/ herself “the best” best - nor does the institute. They believe in team work. They believe and follow the principle that the patient can get the best outcome only if all the people in the team work together efficiently.So every patient is seen by a team comprised of a Professor, assistant professor, Senior PG (MD), Junior PG (DPM), Psychologist/ Social worker, occupational therapist, and nursing staff.I cannot tell who is the best specialist doctor, but i can surely tell you will get the best possible treatment from all the specialist doctors from the department.
