I find it interesting that Democrats have spent years talking about how the economy of after WWII is never coming back, and we need to adjust to that new reality…And now, I guess the economy of post-WWII should be emulated? Is AOC pushing for Trumpism now?I’m very confused.Anyhow.AOC is missing a lot of important details.First, basically nobody actually paid that rate of taxes. Seriously, nobody did.If you’re old enough, you probably have heard the term “tax shelter”. Those were things that people had back before about 1980 that they used to shield income from the IRS. During the tax reforms of 1980 that greatly reduced the top rate, those tax shelters were largely outlawed. But before that, really wealthy people used them, and used them a lot.The facts show that the total taxes (as a percentage of income) paid by the very wealthy didn’t really change much at all in the process. Indeed, no matter what we do with the tax code, it doesn’t seem we really get more out of those really really rich people.Now, some argue that AOC wants an actual 70% rate. Well, okay, but then you aren’t arguing for a return of post WWII rates. Which she said she was. So she has to pick one.Regardless, people making that much money have the means of doing a lot of stuff to avoid taxes. It’s really, really hard to shut down the loopholes that people with really large accounts are almost certain to create.Second, in the post WWII era, rich people had nowhere else to go. Europe and Asia were in smoking ruins. Half the world was dominated by communism. The rest was a third world hell hole. Sure, you can go to Switzerland (and a lot did), but that’s about it.Today? There are a dozen places or more that really rich people can easily run off to, and plenty of nations in Europe and Asia are perfectly fine taking in people with huge bank accounts… And taxing them less than you might think.Of large nations, Germany is generally regarded to have one of the highest tax rates in the world. Its top income tax rate? 45%. The top US tax rate is 37%.Sweden, that supposed liberal icon, only has a 61% top tax rate. Still well below AOC’s “70% or higher”. And it’s a small nation that doesn’t compare well. (About the size of North Carolina).

Okay, I actually do not really care about award show season or about who wins what on music shows but the MAMA lineup for this year is like a joke to me.Important side note: Do not go and attack any groups mentioned in here. If you can’t take seeing your favorite groups being called nugus (not directly) then just go away. Any false information will be edited/deleted.First of all,STAYGet off your high-horses. SKZ isn’t going to be nominated for any of the big categories. SOTY is based off of the success of a song, not how good it is. If that was really the case SKZ would basically have a swimming pool full of SOTY awards but, because their songs don’t do tremendously good on charts they don’t stand a chance against other competitors. Most of these songs have lasted very long on the charts and my top contenders for SOTY 2020 have a lot of music show wins like: ITZY’s “Wannabe” (8 music show wins), Red Velvet’s “Psycho” (9 wins), Oh My Girl’s “Nonstop” (8 music show wins), BLACKPINK ‘How You Like That” (13 music show wins) and here comes the big one BTS’ “Dynamite” with 20 wins. How many wins did “Back Door” get? 2. They don’t even stand a chance against these groups. They didn’t stay long enough on the charts as well because “Eight” is nominated because I think it stayed very long on the charts.Most other categories are also off limits like artist of the year and best male group. Those aren’t going to happen anytime soon honey.The outrage mostly comes from the fact that they weren’t nominated for best dance performance and they also weren’t nominated for worldwide fan’s choice top 10.For best male dance performance:The choreography wasn’t iconic enough. These things get chosen based on how iconic it was most of the time and even though many people liked the choreography it wasn’t iconic enough. Natty also wasn’t seen in a brand reputation ranking (even thought they might not be that accurate). The most recent source I can find states that Natty sold 233 album copies.Secret number CURRENT (“Got that boom” will be released today) views and twitter and instagram following.They do however have 820k instagram followers.Okay, now let’s look at SKZ.Explain to me why the first 3 group were nominated and not SKZ. Don’t come at me with “Oh but they’re just rookies”. NO. This is a popularity award, it isn’t about who gets the most petty points. TREASURE another rookie group has 2.4 million followers on Instagram.How come that nearly unknown groups do get nominated for popularity awards but not SKZ. It’s worldwide fan’s choice, the guys have a huge international following why aren’t they there? They’ll probably get lots of votes because they have quite the following. We just want to let our faves know that we love them and we’d love to see them perform at MAMA once again. I’m not going to watch because none of my favorite groups are present (Red Velvet, SKZ, LOONA, GFRIEND and (G)-IDLE).Maybe STAYS can become friends with other fandoms like Buddies (GFRIEND) and Pink Pandas (APINK) whose group were also snubbed from nominations even though they had quite a good year. SKZ probably had a better year in comparison to other nominees so I think that it’s clear now: Mnet’s is more biased than the average k-pop stan.2020 MAMA Announces Nominees + Voting BeginsSo I actually created an account just to state that once again MAMA hasn't stopped their unfair and biased treatment. I've started viewing them when my 2nd gen idols performed back in the days. Now I can't take their awards seriously and love when idols win awards/perform but still throw shade at them.But I'm seriously disappointed with this list. There were so many well deserving artists that should have been on this list. Like what their criteria for groups/artists being selected? I'd like to know.I know everyone has their own tastes in music, their own groups they support, and their own biases. I'm a multistanner and I don't have strong biases anymore. Even if I do and their not on this list, I understand why and I'm not upset about that.If they are just throwing their favorites on, they might as well allow all groups to be nominees (that's viable for that category) so that fans can at least have a chance to vote for their favorites. They literally have other ways to determine the winner (adding on sales, etc.).Some straight up issues I see and not putting down artists that are mentioned/already a nominee. Probably just need a better explanation.1. Stray kids isn't present when they have been active this year with 2 popular songs. Back door actually did really good as well.2. WEi is a best new artist nominee but they just debuted this month. I hope it's not because of Kim Yohan that they decide to throw the group here (quite unfair). I can name a few other groups that aren't on this list that I don't stan but have seen them around and chart well and are fairly new. It's like putting Drippin on this list because they released music on Oct 28, 2020.3. Why have "best male/female" artist but lump "best new artist" with solo and group. Natty probably won't stand a chance. This I understand as there probably isn't much solo debuts but this is their opportunity to improve and bring in indie artists.4. Gfriend and Apink is missing. That's all that needs to be said here5. Best hip hop/urban needs more than what's listed.6. I think Any Song deserves to be nominated as best dance performance solo. It created a whole tiktok craze7. I need to get back to work but there's more issues.
