I do not think madeeasy will ask question of much higher level. As it is NST, you can expect questions equivalent to gate or below gate level.So the question comes how you need to prepare..??The first and foremost thing you need to remember that you need to score marks only. Never become emotional fool and try to study the whole book just to score in NST. Because for that part (concepts) you will soon have best teachers with you. So, have patience and give first priority to the time (as it is very limited).NST SYLLABUS (OVERVIEW)-1-Basic Engineering (50marks)2-Engineering Mathematics (20 Marks)3-Reasoning and aptitude(20 marks)4-English (10 Marks)As i told earlier time is limited, so first focus on subjects in which you need polishing and then focus on subjects in which you lack. Dont focus on subjects in which you are perfect.For example-If you are good in reasoning and aptitude, then dont take white paper and try solving each and every question from RS Aggarwal or so.NST SYLLABUS(PARTWISE)-1-Basic Engineering -If you seriously want scholarship you need to score in this section because this is the section where most of the students lack.For this part the first thing i would suggest is to buy a Madeeasy Formula Book..Since you are giving nst i am assuming that you are in third or in the last year..and it is crystal clear that around 80% of the given basic engineering syllabus you already read..so start with it…Revise the basic concepts of each subject from formula book and start solving its objective from Gate previous year….You will face a bit of difficulty solving it once…solve it twice ,thrice…at the third attempt you have developed enough capability to solve such type of questions….Refer to book only for those topics in which you are repeatedly making mistake.NOTE- First study the subject which have more weightage and in which you are also perfect.For example-If you are a mechanical student and you are good in only thermodynamics,fm,som and production.Then study order need to be-1-Production 2-SOM 3-FM 4-Thermodynamics 5-TOM 6-Industrial 7-HMTAs the weightage are as follow-Thermodynamics: 6Q HMT: 6Q FM: 6Q Production: 10Q Industrial: 6QSOM: 8Q TOM: 8Q2- Engineering Mathematics-The best thing you can do is to prepare from Gate Engineering Mathematics by Madeeasy..Even if you do not have that book dont worry….just go through your basic engineering mathematics textbooks…and then try solving last year paper that are in your gate book..NOTE- First study the subject which have more weightage and in which you are also perfect.Weightage (Decreasing order expected)-1-Calculus 2-Linear Algebra 3-Probability and Statics 4-Differential equation 5-Vector 6-Complex variable 7-Numerical method 8-Transform theory and Fourier Series3- Reasoning and aptitude-Just get acquainted with all these topics and start solving questions that are in gate previous year paper. Italic topics have more weightage in Gate.
