This will be my first Quora post.At my first job in the northern Swedish mountains, I worked at a gas station with a mechanic shop for ATVs and Snowmobiles.There were a lot of funny moments here but this one really stood out.The mechanic and I were sitting at the register, drinking coffee, one slow Friday, when suddenly we hear the engine of a snowmobile outside, followed by a “clunk clunk clunk”, this sound repeated a couple of times and then the engine stopped. The mechanic looked towards the door with an almost terrified face. He knew that this was going to be one of “those” jobs.A man who sure was not dressed for the mountains walked in with a confused look.He said: “Hi! My snowmobile seems to be running a bit odd, can you guys please take a look?”We went outside, but the second that the mechanic saw the snowmobile, he gripped the back of his head, made an “Oh-” sound and stormed right back in.Most of the suspension and the steel things connecting the tracks and the chassis were CUT IN HALF. Two poor parts were fighting to keep this thing from completely collapsing.I looked at him and asked: “You said it was running a bit odd, huh?”“Yeah, I don’t know what’s wrong.”I told him that the whole thing was almost cut in half and I wondered how he even drove it here.After a short pause he asked: “…so can you fix it?”At this point the mechanic came out and started yelling at the guy: “No we can’t fix it, what do you think?!
