My interview was scheduled on 12 September,2019.Chairperson: Air Marshal A. S. Bhonsle.I Graduated in Electrical Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra in 2017.No job experience.As i had appeared in ESE 2018 interview hence i was less nervous this time before the interview. Apart from chairman there were two lady members and one male member.As i was entering the room Bhonsle sir said " So you are Mr. Shailendra", i replied yes, then he said 'how do i know your name'.(Just to ease me and make the moment somewhat lighter). i said you have my DAF with you.May be i was looking somewhat nervous, he asked me to take deep breath in and out and proceeded by saying" Shailendra as i can see from your DAF you seem to be a very confident person"(here i would like to tell you tell you that i did not have anything like great achievemnt or activity mentioned in DAF which would show that i am a confident person. but i knew he woud say this as he says these words to every candidate :D).then the actual interview started.CM stands for chairperson and i would indicate members as M1,M2 and M3.CM: reading out my hobby written on DAF he said As you have the hobby of reading current happenings in india, suppose that you have been given this power that whatever you want to see in tomorrow’s newspaper you will be able to see. Then what are the news that you would like to see in the field of politics, finance,education and sports?Me:Taking a pause, I said in politics I would like to see all the parties supporting the abrogation of article 370 in Kashmir 9(as that was a very hot topic that time). In finance I said I would like to see that all the banks have recovered from bad loans and NPAs. In education I said I would love to see government announcing modified curriculum for engineering courses and making it more application based. Are they conventional type of relays or numerical type of relays?Me: i did not answer to this question but i thought making a guess won’t be harmful and said conventional relays are used.How conventional relays different from numerical relays?Does a current transformer rated at 5A operates at exactly 5A?Me: first i said it depends upon the relay accuracy but later when he went deeper i said i am not sure about this.Visited any wind power station, do you know the working?As the wind plants voltage and frequency are fluctuating how do we connect to the grid? Any other way than the connecting an inverter?Me: I said I don’t know any other way than using an inverter for controlling the voltage and frequency .From where induction generator gets its reactive power in wind power plants?then he passed on to the next lady member.uld not exactly remember what momentum is but i said something.What have you read in control system?Explain P,I and D controller, both advantages and disadvantage of each?Why does D controller produces the noise, What is difference between speed and velocity. What is momentum?Me: how does integrator controller eliminate the offset error?Me: i answered it mathematically but she was looking for some other way of explanation.What is stability in general? And in terms of input and output?Give an practical example of stable and an unstable system?Overall experience of the interview was good, apart from few questions i was able to answer most of the questions and it was very cordial interaction. Bhonsle sir seemed a cool person who tries to keep the candidate tense free. he asked me to smile and again said keep your eyes closed and then smile :D.in the end he asked what is my plan for today, to which i said i haven’t thought of any then he suggested me to visit the UPSC museum and India Gate.I thanked all the members and came out feeling satisfied with my performance.
