At no time should you take this for 100% what will happen, speak to a legal expert in family law in your area.While I have my views on vaccinations, I will cover this from a legal stand point.If you are in the States, which happens to be a very litigious country, it takes 1 unvaccinated child to cause an immune compromised child injury or death, with traceable source to an unvaccinated child due to parental choice, and we may see many civil suits the likes of the civilian victims of mass shootings against gun manufacturers. Punish the source seems to be the new gold standard, and as I saw this morning with the new case in Toronto, it seems to have carried to Canada. While this is not a direct comparison, it is the same type of “quid-pro-quo” as they say, or “an eye for an eye”. With vaccinations being a proven science, and a choice against them being a proven threat to the life of compromised people, I can see this type of case going ahead, atleast in the States first.That aside, the argument between mother and father, if this goes to court, this again will play to the side of public health and safety. Sure one can bring in experts for the anti side, but the for-it side has the CDC, AAP, many other agencies around the world that can act as interveners if necessary, and any reputable Dr worth their medschool license. If anything, this may be used as an argument for full legal custody, sighting the other party as someone who may not be able to make appropriate health and safety decisions in the best interest of child. They may walk away with full physical custody as well.Now you can back her into a corner and threaten her, forcing her to get a court order which basically states she does not need your consent for these vaccines, or you can try to compromise with her, and ask her to go with you to speak with the baby's Dr regarding the different types and brands of vaccines, and if you have access to vaccines with more organic, plant based preservatives, as opposed to the more traditional ingredients. This is my suggestion, because if you begin arguing at the outset of baby's life, you'll have 18 more years of arguing ahead of you, and this is a horrible environment for a child to grow up in. Even if you live in different towns, they still know, even if you only text argue, they still know.Another thought is that in many places, like several provinces in Canada (where I live), you cannot register your child for school, nor can your child attend school unless and until they are fully up to date on their vaccinations, and because those records are held by Public Health, and sent to the school directly, there's no way to fake or cheat it. The ONE AND ONLY exception for this hard and fast rule is the medical exemption rule, and it must come with medical authorization from a specialist Dr in oncology, immunology, rheumatology etc. Your family Dr cannot excuse you. There are no more religious exemptions, or choice exemptions, cultural exemptions, or any other reasons you can think of.If you are homeschooling, you do have to be associated with some type of educational institution. You can join a home schooling group that works with the board of education in your province and do field trips and exams, etc together. Or you can choose to associate with a provincially funded, public or semi-public board, examples of which would be the public school in your neighbourhood, the “separate school”, which in Alberta is the Catholic school boards, or the francophone school boards, which run both public and Catholic francophone schools. If any one of these types of boards are your choice for submitting your marks, exam invigilating, field trips you might want to tag along on, and of course the board that approves the lessons you teach, so you can promote to the next grade and whatever else goes with it…. any interaction with their school students means your child must be vaccinated.As a last thought, with the current out breaks of measles in North America, the out break of Polio in under developed countries, the vaccine for whopping cough, and the vaccine for chickenpox, which prevents complications like shingles later in life, it's now becoming not only socially unacceptable to not Vax, it is also medically necessary for you to do your part in saving your child from unnecessary suffering or even death, as well as the rest of the population. At this point, we are just a couple years away from all medically advanced countries making it law that children be vaccinated on the most current schedules recommended by the CDC and AAP in the States, the CPS and PHAC in Canada, and the UNEPSA and ECDC in the European Union.The current laws as they stand:In Canada: Healthcare is a Provincial matter, and each province or territory decides what and when it is offered. However most provinces and territories offer the same vaccines that cover 15 different diseases, spread throught infancy, starting at 2 months and the final one being about 4 years old. Then some provinces offer a chickenpox booster and HepB around 5th -6th grade along with HPV. HPV is mainly pushed for girls and women, however it is encouraged for boys too. Finally there is a round of Tdap-IPV and for some Meningococcal Meningitis in g9, the MM some places g6.Only 3 Provinces so far have made vaccination mandatory for school entry, those being Manitoba, New Brunswick, and Ontario.In the US, all 50 States have laws that state children must be vaccinated to attend public school. They offer the same vaccines as Canada does, on pretty much the same schedule. These are state laws, as there is no federal law. Of those States all but 5 allow for religious exemptions, those being:California, Main, Mississippi, New York, West VirginiaOf the 50 States, there are 15 States that allow for personal choice exemptions, those being:Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, WisconsinWashington State still allows for personal choice exemptions, (called philosophical exemption) for vaccines, with the exception of the MMR vaccine, which became mandatory as of July 28, 2019
