Where in the Constitution does it say people can have all the guns they want?

It doesn’t.What it does say is this:… the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.[1][1][1][1]Let’s take a deeper look, shall we.The Right of the People… If we look to the Declaration of Independence[2][2][2][2], we can see that the Founding Fathers believe certain rights, namely, we assume, those they listed in the Bill of Rights, to be unalienable.According to Google, an unalienable right is a right that is unable to be taken away involuntarily or even voluntarily. So, basically, this is saying the people have a right that can’t be taken away.…to Keep and Bear Arms… In the Supreme Court Case of District of Columbia v. Heller[3][3][3][3] (2008), it was ruled that “to keep and bear arms” allowed American citizens to keep firearms for their private use and that they did not need to be involved in a militia of any sort.[4][4][4][4]…Shall Not Be Infringed. Shall. Not. Be. Infringed. Again, let’s go to Google for a definition. Infringed: “Act so as to limit or undermine; encroach on.” Words with similar meanings include: undermine, erode, diminish, weaken, impair. So, these rights shall not be limited or encroached upon. They should not be weakened or impaired.Hmmm… Interesting. So while the Constitution does not in fact say that people can have all the guns they want, it does say that the government, and the people themselves, can not infringe upon the right. And since infringe means limit, then the Constitution clearly states that the People’s right to keep and bear arms shall not be limited.Well then, I guess we can Constitutionally own as many damn guns as we’d like.Without limits.Without interference. And without hassle.Footnotes[1] Second Amendment[1] Second Amendment[1] Second Amendment[1] Second Amendment[2] Declaration of Independence: A Transcription[2] Declaration of Independence: A Transcription[2] Declaration of Independence: A Transcription[2] Declaration of Independence: A Transcription[3] Dc V Heller - Cases[3] Dc V Heller - Cases[3] Dc V Heller - Cases[3] Dc V Heller - Cases[4] The Supreme Court's Impact on the Second Amendment[4] The Supreme Court's Impact on the Second Amendment[4] The Supreme Court's Impact on the Second Amendment[4] The Supreme Court's Impact on the Second Amendment

Was there ever a declaration of war that the opposing country just ignored?

There are several interesting cases.During Russo-Japanese War, the tiny country of Montenegro declared war on Japan in a show of solidarity with Russia--which no one noticed. More than 100 years and two World Wars passed, Montenegro was absorbed into Yugoslavia, then became independent again. Only then people realized that Montenegro and Japan were still at war and both govts declared the war over. This is rather common, as tiny countries sometimes declare wars for symbolic reasons but can't do anything so nobody notices. Another example is Andorra during WW I.During WW2, there was another kind of “ignored” declaration of war, between US and Thailand. After a series of convoluted diplomacy and both military cooperation and hostility with Japan, the Thai government decided to ally with Japan and declared war on US and Britain. However, Thais were deeply divided--one faction was deeply hostile to Japan, while another liked Japan, at least early on. Thai ambassador to US was of anti-Japanese faction and refused to deliver the declaration and US ignored the Thai declaration of war.

Was there anyone who opposed the US entry into World War 2 after Pearl Harbor?

Was there anyone who opposed the US entry into World War 2 after Pearl Harbor? The United States was attacked. Thousands of Americans killed without the warning of a declaration of war until after the attack took place. A nation’s leaders must respond to an attack upon it’s people.Who opposed it?Traitors and fools. The Japanese were actively killing Americans, they were attacking people living under American protection. They were slaughtering our allies in the most horrific fashion and they made clear their desire to inflict more damage to the US whenever possible. It was also evident that they were seizing territory and resources to make further war upon us and our allies. There was only one pragmatic outcome. One consistency was the Montana woman legislator who had voted against the declaration of war against Germany in 1917. She voted against the declaration of war against Japan in 1941.Who else opposed it?Those in the American Bund, traitors who sided with Nazi Germany and didn’t want the United States to enter the war on the side of the Allies.Interestingly, my Japanese American Grandfather, with his family right on Oahu during the attack on Pearl Harbor cursed the Japanese government as utter fools. Almost everyone of his sons went to fight in the US Army right off the bat.
