THE VERY SAME THING.However, I must clarify that most US States have certain requirements in addition to merely having an academic degree in order to practice a profession such as accounting, medicine or law or to hold a licensed occupation like being a schoolteacher, auto mechanic, master plumber or private investigator: normally you also have to comply with certain requirements set by a State licensing board or other regulatory body, requirements which frequently include taking some form of exam (the bar exam for lawyers and medical board exams for doctors).But a college degree from Puerto Rico will work just fine in the States if it was issued by a certified college or university. For example, in order for a law degree from a Puerto Rico law school to enable someone to practice law in any other State of the Union —after they’ve also passed the State bar exam if there is one— must have been issued by an ABA-accredited law school (American Bar Association), which all three law schools in Puerto Rico are (University of Puerto Rico School of Law, Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law and Inter-American University of Puerto Rico school of law).There are some occupations, such as airplane pilot, that have a Federal license that’s good all over the US, including both the States of the Union and the territories like Puerto Rico, but they require a degree from federally-licensed institutions such as flying schools, in addition to compliance with Federal agencies such as the FAA; but in those cases, Puerto Rico’s schools are also licensed and regulated exactly the same way as schools in the US mainland because all Federal agencies have jurisdiction in Puerto Rico and have a presence in Puerto Rico with offices and personnel on the Island.

A law school that engages in predatory admissions practices is a law school that routinely admits large numbers of students they know have almost no chance of ever passing a bar examination, just so they can get their hands on the students’ tuition dollars.The peak year for predatory admissions practices in US law schools was 2014, when 26 ABA-approved law schools admitted entering classes in which at least a quarter of their students were at extreme risk of failing the bar examination. The American Bar Association (ABA) responded to the problem by cracking down on these law schools, and most of them have now mended their ways.
