Recently, I have been scammed at Hero bike service center. Hero provides first 5 free services. It was time for my 3rd bike service. So I went and described problems I was facing with my bike. Accordingly they created Jobcard. I was asked to come after 1 hr. As it was holiday, and “Clan war” was going on, I decided to stay there and plan some clan war tactics. I was sitting in a Waiting room from where my bike was completely visible. After few minutes, they took my bike and serviced. As soon as service was finished, they parked bike outside, ready to be collected. So, I went to counter and asked for receipt, key and gatepass. Now, they asked me to go to billing counter. As I went there, they handed me bill of 80 ₹. As first 5 services are free, I asked them about the extra charge. They said that 80 ₹ is charged for filling Nitrogen air in tyres. I was surprised as no one asked me if I wanted this. I objected to it as it was not expected. I know the benefits of Nitrogen gas for tyres and I was thinking for filling the same from few days, so I decided to let go of the matter and paid 80 ₹.Now, I was given a bike key, receipt, gatepass and said you can collect your bike parked outside. I have been with my bike throughout the time when servicing was done. I clearly remembered that there was no Air pressure check/Nitrogen air filling was done for my bike. Infact, the Nitrogen filling pump was near exit gate. I raised my concern over this and got reply that Nitrogen is already filled and then bike is parked here. Now I lost my patience, as it was a clear lie.I asked them with super confidenence on my face, “When do you fill Nitrogen in tyres? Is it before or after service done?”I got dual answer for this question. One guy told “before service”, whereas other guy told “after service”.They both started looking at each other and laughed. I told them to check CCTV footage and decide if my bike is served with Nitrogen gas or not. I raised my voice so that everyone around me can hear our discussion. Nitrogen filling guy came running towards me and told that he will refill the tyres in front of me. I left the counter and that guy emptied tyres and then refilled tyres with Nitrogen air in front of me. It took more than 5 minutes for my bike. There itself I concluded that they just add 80 ₹ to each bike coming for service because there were 127 bikes serviced that day(my tag no was 104). It would take atleast 7 hrs of continuous work if he wanted to fill that gas in each tyres. But, he was sitting idly from the moment I came to service centre. If you calculate, 80 ₹ from atleast 100 people, itwill yeild 8000 for them. Also there will be no way to verify of Nitrogen is really filled or not.I raised complaint in their complaint box but everyone knows what will happen to that paper.
