I also know that treatment of certain chronic illnesses is way cheaper like HIV, Diabetes, etc. Tests, vaccines and many medicines will be cheaper here.I do not know what are you seeking but here are some guidelines.a) CR has boards of doctors that regulate their behavior and conduct. No person can be a doctor if they do not join the board. But here is a catch: you can have someone that is a general doctor practicing plastic surgery or any other specialization. It is not ilegal. So double check if your doctor is a certified specialist in the area of treatment that your are seeking.You can do that by checking your doctor specs at the board’s website. There are no regulation about maximum fees. One can expect that a bilingual good doctor may charge more, but check those minimum fees at the board website. That will give an idea if a doctor is charging too much for their services.c) Many health insurances from abroad are accepted here. Talk to your doctor about that.d) If you are getting a small surgery (like plastic surgery) double check what kind of facility is the doctor using. You can have it at a private clinic which is not bad, as long as it is close to a major hospital.
