Walchand College of Engineering (WCE)is definitely one of the decent state level colleges of Maharashtra.After becoming an autonomous institute, it provides you a good infrastructure — an environment where you can evolve yourself.AcademicsAcademicautonomy has helped it to keep its academic content well updated alongwith the ongoing technology (although it is not as good as IITs, it isstill better than other colleges). You have plenty of things to learn,experiment and enjoy if you love the field you chose. Every year, thereare tons of technical events, paper presentation competitions that willhelp you a lot.The CampusApart from academics,campus is beautiful. Unlike other space-deficient colleges in cities,WCE has 100 acres of campus and thus, natural environment, isolationfrom outside city and awesome weather.Hostels and MessHostelshave very bad infrastructure, but once you settle there, you will findit the best. 24 hrs WiFi, no time restrictions, you can roam around incampus any time you want. I don't want to demotivate anybody, but itsthe fact that its very hard to find a good mess that suits you. Food like home is just a mythand the sooner you realize, the better it is.The co-curricular part :-Some departments are open for 24 hours, you can use the resources they avail to the fullest. Lotsof technical, personality development, musical, astronomical clubs arethere. You can become part of them. These clubs organize various events,workshops where you can become part of organizing committee orparticipate. Also if you don't want to do all this and just focus onacademics, no one is going to stop you. Depending on what you want topursue in future you can move accordingly in these 4 years.Every year WCE organizes Annual Social Gathering (ASG),which is quite popular, at least over the Sangli-Miraj area. Its mostpopular compared to other colleges in that area; so there, you have anice platform to showcase your talent. If you're an outingperson, we have some best places to visit at our disposal. Goa, Malvan(Tarkalli beach), Ganpatipule, Dudhsagar, Satara, Mahabaleshwar to name afew.At Placements:-Placements is most influential factor which drives a student towards WCE in Maharashtra. Every year, placement is almost 100%. We had a saying at our times in college, "If you have a decent CPI, even you can't stop yourself from being placed". If you are extraordinary, you can definitely expect an OMG! package in your hands. <self-plug>But this is not done. Placements is not everything. In fact theseplacements will take you to another worse cycle of corporate drain whereyou have no individual importance. I repeat, NO INDIVIDUAL IMPORTANCE. I don't want to hurt anybody but this is the fact.WCE gives you opportunity to excel in many other fields, where you canpursue post graduation from a much better institute (be it M. Tech.,M.S., M.B.A. or anything else). It provides you an environment where youcan prepare yourself to face those heavy competitions of outside world.You just have to understand your abilities, understand your potentialand how high you can climb </self-plug>I willconclude with my instinct that if you want to make 4 years of yourengineering, a productive 4 years and live in the lap of a beautifulcampus then I will advise you to go ahead and live the opportunity oflife.

Such visibility, and promise of impact becomes a significant factor when they are deciding between job offers. Keep in mind that these people don’t need to go to Google. Other potential employers for instance those on Wall Street will probably pay them an order of magnitude more!!Secondly, providing baseline code for NMT and other problems, attracts active researchers and software developers to TensorFlow; which will over time result in rapid improvements to TF. Already TF is the flagship deep learning framework, largely because of academic interest in it. Keep in mind that CNTK came out with distributed learning earlier than TF, and was superior in performance two years back! Leading academics yet flock towards TensorFlow precisely because of the community effect.Finally, Google wants to become a player in the cloud market, where it currently lags behind Amazon and Microsoft.
