No. Roger Maris had Hall of Fame level talent without a doubt, but he only played at that level for three seasons, 1960–62. Before that, he was still developing as a player, and after 1962, injuries reduced him to just being a good ballplayer, and cut about five years off his career.When he walked away from the game after 1968 at the age of 33, he was still an above-average player, but was spending long parts of each season on the DL or in need of days off, and he was probably tired of being labeled as a “disappointment” because he never came close to what he’d done in 1961 again. After Maris went to the St. Louis Cardinals in 1967 (and helped them win a World Series with a spectacular performance that October), he obtained an Anheuser-Busch dealership from owner Gussie Busch, and made far more money in retirement off of that than he ever did in baseball.But he was always proud of what he had done in that one epic season. He died young, of cancer at the age of 51 in 1985. On his gravestone, it says “61 (in) ‘61” and “Against All Odds,” recognizing that he did this despite incessant harassment and even threats from his own team’s “fans” who didn’t want him breaking Babe Ruth’s record.After 59 years, he’s still the single-season home run king among players who didn’t cheat, and still the AL record-holder, since ‘roidoids McGwire, Sosa and Bonds all played in the NL.

I guess I'll go first. :)I've been on Paleo for about one year. These are the differences that it has made for me:Lost 20 pounds of body fatGained 10 pounds (and counting!) of muscleHDL went from 61 mg/dL (already pretty good) to 120 mg/dL (the best my doctor has ever seen)(higher is better, ideal is >= 60 mg/dL)Triglycerides went from 44 mg/dL to 37 mg/dL(lower is better, normal is < 150 mg/dL)Fasting glucose is now 85 mg/dL (no prior data)(lower is better, normal is from 70 to 99 mg/dL)Subjectively, I feel more fit now than I have ever been in my life. Like many people, I used to feel embarrassed to take my shirt off because of the way my body looked. Now, I'm at risk of being called a "show-off". All of this despite exercising about 50% less than I used to a few years ago. If Free T3 and Free T4 are with in normal limits and elevated TSH it is called subclinical hypothyroidism. Usually the recommendation is to start on replacement therapy if TSH above 10.
