I would definitely be in favor of a modification that removed the first thirteen words. “The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” is so much simpler and less prone to confusion and obfuscation, don’t you agree?You see, the actual right exists independently of the Constitution. It is a natural right of free men everywhere. As Thomas Jefferson so eloquently put it, it is one of the inalienable rights with which all men “are endowed by their Creator.”If you think the applies only to life, liberty and . the pursuit of happiness, you are dead wrong. Jefferson was writing a declaration, not a laundry list. You need to look up the definition of the word “among.”With those 13 words, some people have screwed up the intent by averring that “all men” are only those in a specific adjunct to the standing army that the Founding Fathers of the United States were so dead set against. Somehow they manage to this this while ignoring roughly a thousand years of history and tradition in both English common law and American law.Unlike those countries that remained in the British Empire for far too long, the creators of the Constitution did not believe that human rights existed at the whim of monarchs or parliaments. This is because they believed that the people were the rightful rulers and that the government should not only serve them but should be subservient to them.And early on the people told the government that it could not keep them from speaking freely; worshipping the Great Flying Spaghetti Monster if they so wished; publishing what they pleased without any censorship; assembling and petitioning the government for the redress of grievances; and owning weapons.I don’t happen to be a devotee of the Great Flying Spaghetti Monster, but otherwise, I happen to be in agreement with those people.

This provides for easier application of work visas for foreign talents, longer visa period, certain tax exemptions on earnings, and inclusion in the healthcare/pension system.Modifications to the Statute of Industrial Innovation. Some of the new provisions include requiring state-owned enterprises to allocate certain percentage of its revenue to R&D, tax incentives for individuals to invest in high-risk innovative start-ups (as defined by the government), tax incentives for research institutes to transfer their patents to the industrial sector, etc.This is nowhere near a complete list, but should give some ideas of Tsai administration’s political orientations. I’d say whether you think she is doing a good job or not should depend partially on what you think of these laws.

Peace. Agreement. Two words that have lost all meaning with respect to the PA.Ultimatum is the antithesis of agreement. The PA has vetoed in the Arab League any modifications to the Arab Peace Initiative, what used to be called the Saudi Initiative. Assumedly if Israel would accept the API in its original form as an ultimatum they would not object to Israel carrying out the plan.Achieving Peace, an end to the conflict, is the only objective Israel seeks, and the PA has repeatedly avoided stating that they consider the implementation of any “agreement” as terminating the conflict.So I suppose you could say that their demands are detailed in the Arab Peace Initiative, and after it is carried out in every detail to their complete satisfaction they may or may not consider renouncing their mission of liberating Palestine in its entirety.
