Bike Rental: Fill & Download for Free

Is that like a grocery store?”Riding the Divvy Bike rentals on the side walk.“What’s the Metra?”Mistaking the acronym “LSD” for the drug and not Lakeshore Drive.“Dude you wanna go to the Bean?!”Using the term “Chi-City.”“Can you please tell me where Willis Tower is?”Screaming and panicking when your car fishtails in the snow.“Does it always get this cold in December?!” (Child, wait until February.)

It took me a hit of Rs. 500 twice to realise about this very simple scam that bike rental shops do. Most of the times we prefer to find a bike rental shop closest to our hotel so that it is easy for us to return the bike at the time of checkout and we don’t have to park extra time just for returning the bike.I had the same experience twice, once in 2015 and latest in 2018 when I rented a bike. When you take the bike, the vehicle owner asks you to click the pictures of the bike and inspect for scratches so that you can return the vehicle in the same condition. I too did the same and used the bike for few days. Before giving the vehicle for rent, they usually keep an ID proof, asks where you are staying and take some security amount to ensure that their vehicle is secure.Here comes the scam. Both the times I gave Rs. 500 as security deposit and clicked pictures of the vehicle before leaving the shop. I rented the bike for 4 days and drove it without any accident or adding new scratches but at the day of return, he showed me that there are 2–3 new scratches that were not there before or paint came out (as if someone intentionally scratched it). Now, I know that I never banged the vehicle and parked it at the safest places then how come the vehicle got this scratch. The first time I genuinely thought that may be it happened while I parked it somewhere but when it happened second time, I was pretty clear that it was done intentionally be someone and in both the cases, I ended up loosing the security money because it doesn’t matter whether it is a small or a big scratch, any new scratch for them means your security money is gone and obviously, you won't leave just like that because they have one of your ID proofs.My guess, these bike owners already know all the hotel premises and they can easily go into their open areas since they are locals. It hardly costs them anything to just put one new scratch and it gives them the liberty to take your entire security amount. It’s a wonderful scam because they only get their vehicle repaired once yearly when they have to renew the yellow number plate license for commercial use and it allows them to charge every customer their security amount every time someone rents their vehicle.

In the Indian city of Bangalore, there's a bike rental service all over the city started by a company Bounce in 2014.Today it had valued over $300m but…The service provided by the company is very good but there arises a problem by the users.The issue is that when a driver's ride is over, they didn't park the bike at the right place which often lead to various problems including road accident sometimes also.Another problem.- the things which are provided by the company i.e helmet and some other body parts are either stolen or dumped away by the riders which has now become a serious matter. According to company report , there are more than 2000 cases reported every month.Another issue is that the riders don't care for the bike, I mean literally no. Due to this many bikes often found in such a bad condition and veey times there's a whole bunch of these like the below one -
