If, for example, you are going from Philadelphia or New York to Oregon or Northern California, you might plan a route through Colorado or Wyoming. If a big storm moves in an you are stuck for 3,4,5 days in Iowa or Wyoming the experience may not be a good one.Depending on the weather forecast (which can be useful out to 5 - 8 days) spending a day to go South first and then going West ( Interstate 40, or even down to Interstate 10) followed by a half day of a day to go North when you are on the other coast might be a good idea, especially is there is anyone you can visit on the way.2. If they are good swimmers, they don't want to be stuck in the "guppy class" while someone figures out they can really swim and belong in the "Mutant Catfish class"Miscellaneous -Return any library books, items borrowed from neighbors or friends, or rented.Let any religious, fraternal, political, or social groups know your are leaving before it gets to the last few weeks. My parents have been outright sarcastic a lot of times, even in public when I was a kid.I recall this happening a few days ago :As I had been preparing for CAT, I was also applying to different college where the application forms wanted you to list out all your academic and extra curricular details. They had an individual option for Sports category.I had never been an athletic person, as I sucked at all games requiring hand eye coordination. Still pushing my luck I decided to call up my mom and ask her to check If I had any sport achievement.(as all my certificates were at home and I have moved to another city for a job)So after a while my mom calls and the conversation continues like this:Mom(on loudspeaker): I checked all your certificates but there is nothing related to sports.Me (desperately): There’s nothing?? Oh God!! I will have nothing much to mention in my extra curricular achievements section!!Mom: Let me check again !!Dad(joins in the conversation): Hey I found a certificate where you got first prize, wait I’ll whatsapp you the photo!! You should definitely put this in your application.Me(Gets excited checks the photo my dad sent):It’s a certificate of me winning Lemon and Spoon Race in Class 2nd.Me to Dad: Seriously ?!! Are you guys making fun of me!!And all I could hear was my parents laughter in the background for about a minute!!Instance 2In general I ask my sister or mom’s advice when I cant pick one shoe among two. So I sent a picture of me wearing the 2 shoes from the shop for their opinion and my father responded asking if that is how it’s done nowadays !
