Quitting SmokingThat is me. See the car in the backdrop , I saved enough to buy that car.HistoryStarted smoking in a cold evening in 2000 from a cigarette shop in front of Rex Theatre in Brigade Road ,Bangalore . A few puffs of smoke every day was enough for a year. So shared a Goldflake King with three friends.In 9 years I was smoking 3 packs of Goldflake Kings every day. On top of that I used chewing gum , passpass , tea , samosa etc to remove oral odour.I was hopping in and out of my startup office every 20 minutes to smoke. My work piled up, my sleep was nowhere near normal. I even used to wake up from sleep just to smoke a cigarette. Eventually I understood that my profession will be ruined if I keep on smoking.Then one fine morning in Feb 2010 ,I decided to quit smoking. I arrived at my office and announced my decision to quit. The whole team made fun of me stating that I wouldn't last even a single day. My ego got hurt. So I ended up in a bet that if anyone found me smoking , I would pay them Rs 1000 each.I haven't smoked a single cigarette for the past 6 years.So how did I buy the car.
