PDF Editor FAQ
What are some good/great ideas India has adopted /should adopt from the West?
Should adopt: Order one. Plant one. There are many commercial companies around the world, those plant a tree whenever anyone place an order from their website.Several companies like:Woodchuk USA, Sapling Spirits, Ecosia, Tree Tribe and many more aims to do so.This is indeed a great initiative which is still not so popular and not so in practice in India. I would love to see Indian companies adopting this idea and people will also appreciate it. This will not only help their business to grow but also will help the nature to restore its dying lungs. In love with the nature.
Can a woman who has adopted a child demand child support?
From whom? Her husband, if she is now separating? Yes, if he also adopted the child (making the child his son or daughter). From the bio father? Highly unlikely. The bio parents’ rights and obligations are terminated by the adoption order.
How do you win Civilization V an Immortal or Deity? What are the keys to winning on the highest difficulties?
I won on immortal through a diplomatic victory as Venice. I disagree with Dale Leung that the only way to go is conquest.(you can see the “immortal achievement blurring in the corner of my screen; that’s a mac glitch that they have never patched)I agree that you need to take some enemy cities early on. For me, I took two Iroquois cities in the very beginning, but then left them alone for the rest of the game. The beginning:The game had 14 players counting myself on a large map. It was small islands. I shared a rather big island with both the Iroquois and Brazil. In the beginning I focused entirely on the Great Library. I used a Liberty worker to cut down some forests, and got it built. Then I entered the classical era. I used my free great person to build the Oracle.I realized that buying city states as Venice essentially gives me an Immortal city. My capital had much lower population growth than the city states. By 1,000 BC when I bought two cities, both had like 11 population while Venice had only 7. After the Iroquois declared war on me, buying them also gave me lots of military units. Then I took two Iroquois cities while they were at war with me.In the Medieval Era I was dead-set on trying this with a diplomatic victory or tourism victory. I used my new Great Merchants to do a gold mission, rather than buy a city state and stayed at 4 cities.I then built the Forbidden Palace, Hagia Sophia, and Sistine Chapel. It was very difficult to build any other wonders as the other civilization were wonder rushing as well. I founded a religion, one of the last religions. The Renaissance:Everyone met each other in 1200. Four civilizations, Germany, the Celts, the Dutch, and America, were so technologically advanced that they were crossing the ocean well before that time.I was far behind technologically. I fixed this by once again using City States Immortal Bonus to my advantage: I picked scholasticism and all 10 of my City State allies were suddenly dumping science on me.By the end of the Renaissance I was in the middle of the pack technologically, France was dead last.I had met everyone before anyone discovered Printing Press; at that point the UN was founded around 1300.First order of business: the World’s Fair. I proposed that, and got all sorts of friendly messages from all the computer players. At this time I made friendship declarations with everyone but the Iroquois. The Iroquois were still mad at me.When the World’s Fair vote came around I used my trade routes to beat everyone to it. I had all four of my cities sending production to my capital.Industrial and ModernBecause it was founded so early, the time each vote was taking was immense. Around 1800 the Netherlands adopted Order. The Celts adopted Autocracy. Then America adopted Order. I used Oxford University to skip 28 turns of research and Radio for free around 1850 and adopted Freedom, and got two early adopter tenants.I had intentionally picked India and the Netherlands for my game, assuming they would adopt Freedom, but no that plan was foiled. Everyone adopted order by 1900 except the Celts. My happiness was not in the red, but it was being hurt.In the 1890s I started getting all of these war requests. By 1891 the Netherlands and America declared war on Germany, the Celts declared war on Germany, then the Netherlands and America both declared war on the Celts. Everyone on earth started declaring war on the Celts. However, Germany was losing the most. America and the Dutch took all of Germany’s colonies. At this point I feared that my happiness might go into the red, and I enacted a plot I had been considering all along: official ideology Freedom. I proposed it at the UN in 1898.All hell broke loose. At the height of conflict I was at war with everyone except the Iroquois. Annoyingly, several civilizations just never signed a peace treaty with me, and then every 10 turns would drag civilizations I had signed a peace treaty with back into the conflict.30 turns later the Dutch refused to sign a peace treaty with me. I voted for Freedom as the official ideology, and it passed it with a sheer majority of city states.Beyond the Industrial Era and Modern Era: Some upgrades are stupid and actually give the computer a disadvantage.Since Civilizations have a happiness bonus on immortal difficulty they build more cities. This is what the world looked like at this time. You can see the Dutch, the Brazilians, and the Americans have taken lots of Germany’s cities and spread out.The Dutch had like literally 30 cities, including 10 occupied ones. One turn after getting Freedom passed as the world ideology, this happened:Suddenly the most successful civilizations were much worse off. Here is how some of the bonuses are actually handicaps:In all difficulties up to immortal, civilizations do not have a cultural influence buff. On immortal however, they have an influence buff where they are less likely to be influenced by not only me but by each other. Thus, despite the fact that everyone had Order, none of the civs with order were providing a positive Order cultural influence on each other. Everyone was discontent except for the civilizations with low culture like Mongolia and Russia.Everyone was being hit, despite the fact I was exerting no tourism influence over them. The Dutch were not changing ideologies, because they were at no risk of losing cities because no one had influence over them.At this point I took advantage of their situation. All of their military was very weak because of the unhappiness. I took out their destroyers with my ironclads, and pushed out taking 3 Dutch island cities near me.After five or 10 turns, the Celts got a cultural influence over the Dutch and they immediately adopted Freedom to avoid losing their cities.I did not attack the Dutch anymore because they were the same ideology as me, and I wanted their influence to exert over other Civs forcing them to also switch to Freedom.I was still hoping for a tourism victory at this point, because it is funner than a diplomatic victory, but eventually I gave up on that.A few turns later the Americans declared war on the Dutch. The Dutch then signed a peace treaty with me.Mongolia refused to sign a peace treaty so I sent submarines into their territory and destroyed their trade routes. Then Mongolia annoyingly got America to declare war on me again 10 turns after they signed a peace treaty with me.This time America sent 6 destroyers into my territory, and they destroyed my entire navy and broke all of my trade routes making me go to -40 gold per turn. Slowly I rebuilt my navy, starting with submarines, then destroyers, then two battleships, and I took two American cities near Brazil.Once we reached the information era I was able to get a simple diplomatic victory via a majority vote in the UN.takeaways:Some bonuses prove to be handicaps if you exploit them right. All civs will pick order or Autocracy and will have little or no influence over each other. By declaring a world ideology different from theirs, you can send the biggest civs into chaos.
