Sweden do not have government-regulated salaries. On a national level, Sweden have no minimum wages, so it it fully legal to pay 0 SEK.Instead, salaries and benefits are negotiated between the national union and employer organizations. In order to understand how salaries and benefits work in Sweden, a small background is required:There are three major national employer organisations, and most companies are member of one of these. Similarly, there are three national organisations for unions (LO, TCO and SACO), and all unions are members of one of those.For people employed by companies that are member of organizations negotiating with LO unions (typically for workers within classic industries, service and public sectors), the national employment agreements often contains specified minimum wages, and the spread of salaries are extremely low.For people employed by companies that are member of organizations negotiating with TCO unions (typically administrators, low-level engineers or managers, people without university degrees etc), the national employment agreements may contains specified minimum wages, with a low spread of salaries, but there may be individual salaries as well, negotiated between the employee and local manager as well.For people employed by companies that are member of organizations negotiating with SACO unions (people with Bachelor, Master or PhD degrees etc), the national employment agreements does not contain any numbers at all, hence the minimum salary is 0 SEK. Instead, almost all salaries are negotiated directly between the employee and local manager.For companies not member of any organization at all, salaries are negotiated directly between the employee and local manager.Union membership is very high in Sweden, and the national agreements are binding for all employees of an employer, even those not member of a union, as long as their employer is member of a national employer organisation.The SCB (Central Bureau of Statistics) keeps track of average salaries in major fields of work. The SACO unions collect statistics from their members. Those numbers etc are used as guidelines during individual negotiations.Average salaries, entire workforce, independent of education, field of work etc:According to SCB 2017, the average salary for the entire workforce is 24.188 SEK/month, including approx 30% taxes. The 10th percentile is approx. 22.100 SEK/month, while the 90th percentile is approx. 46.350 SEK/month.The difference between mens and women salaries are 11%. When things such as the fact that women work fewer hours/week than men, work in different fields, have different education etc., the differences of the salaries between men and women are 4%.General working conditions:Nominally, Swedes work 38–40h/week, 225 working days/year, plus 5 weeks (6 in some cases) of fully paid vacation.Temporary leave of absence due to illness or children's illness etc., is also partly paid, at up to ~80% of the salary. So is unemployment - at least for half a year. All due to combinations of government law, national agreements between unions and employer organizations, and union member’s free (or non-free, but optional) personal income insurances.

While no job is ever permanent, the difference between permanent employment and temporary employment is that one has a defined end date. If you are hired for a job in a permanent status, it means that your employment is indefinite. That is, until you decide to leave or if the employer decides to get rid of you for whatever reason.Temporary employment can range from being hired to work a few days to as long as a couple months. However, the hiring agreement usually spells out the the length of employment. That’s the basic difference of the two.

It would depend on the contract or agreed to meal plan. There are private chefs to only provide 1 dinner a week, and some that provide every meal during the course of the week. It is up to the individual chef to determine what the employer wants and to price it accordingly.A very good friend of mine is the private chef to a very private family. He provides all meals for them 7 days a week, as well as (on average) one event once a month. He also has a helper and is given a labor budget for the month. This usually translates to 5 1/2 days a week of work, sometimes less, sometimes more. When the family goes somewhere on vacation, he goes with them, as they have multiple houses scattered around the globe. He then coordinates with temporary employers to make sure the home is staffed when the family gets there.For the above he is paid handsomely, and has full benefits, they trust him, and he likes them, considering that he started as the kitchen help to the original chef 12 years ago, he is very happy with how things have gone.I have personally been a personal chef when I was in between restaurants, but my arrangement was different. It was 2 days a week. One day spent shopping, cooking, and preparing meals for the week, and the next cooking, labeling, and dealing them, with instructions for reheating attached. It was not paid by the hour, but a flat fee. I would give them a list of dishes that I could prepare and they would pick 14 of them, the food cost would then be paid back when my salary was paid. If I had to do more, say a dinner party, or an event, then that was a separate agreement.Having said all that, this is the American way, that I have seen, and experienced first hand, but I’m sure that in some countries exploitation of home staff is rampant.
