I'm not going to make any accusations. I'm just going to tell you what happened to me.I saw the same doctor at the same practice for a very long time. No failed drug tests. No issues. I obeyed my pain contract and all was well.Then I moved. I kept seeing the old doctor as long as I could manage it, but eventually he retired.So I go to see a new doctor in my area. All of a sudden, I start blowing piss tests for meth. I was never allowed to actually see these results, mind, or any paperwork. She just kept saying I had tested positive.This confused me because, well, I hadn't been using meth. Four in a row. And in the meantime she was rudely and aggressively pressing me to admit to something I wasn't doing, jerking my treatment around, and generally being untrustworthy. She claimed she'd ruled out false positives, and that there was no way to check the metabolite quantity in the sample (??? Blatant lie).Finally, she referred me to someone claiming it was for psychiatric help, only for me to show up and discover it was an addiction treatment program. Not even for meth, but for opioids. She had told me I was still going to be seeing her and staying on morphine, not doing methadone or Suboxone. Then she refers me to a woman whose whole practice is managing addicts with Suboxone. That was the last lie I was going to stand for.So I stopped seeing both her and the woman I was referred to. Instead I began seeing the doctor who my old doctor sees as his personal physician.Guess what stopped happening as soon as I was taking urine exams at a different practice?Yeah, they came up clean once more as they had always previously done.I'll let you draw your own conclusions. I've certainly drawn mine. Don't assume that all doctors are honest or have your best interests in mind. They should. Most do. But not all.Edit: So, this touched a nerve. I should have expected that, I guess. But I didn't. I think this may be my most viral answer. Which isn't much by Quora standards, but I'm rather overwhelmed to note that the number of comments has crested into three digits. I'm used to maybe getting one or two here and there.
