I have covered this up many a times but Zeshan Mahmood response is bringing me back in the ring.Were the ancestors of Pakistanis not Hindu?Yes majority of Pakistanis who live in Punjab and Sindh have Hindu ancestry. But that will not be correct to say every Pakistani has Hindu ancestry.There is no point to disrespect Hindus/Hinduism altogether being a Pakistani nor it is a benchmark to prove my patriotism. Our complicated nature of relationship with India at state level doesn't mean we should maintain rigid and biased opinions towards Hinduism. I earlier finished one of my response few hours before where I was giving credit to Pakistan as birthplace of Hinduism.To all those Pakistani friends who don't know.The word Hindu/Hinduism was abbreviated from river Indus which currently passes in modern day Pakistan. In addition, Hindu is also geographical term refers to a person who lives in suburbs of Northwest parts of River Indus.Lahore (Luv) and Kasoor (Kush) were sons of Rama.Karachi was named under one Hindu Saint Mai Golachi.Rawalpindi is named after epic character of folkfare Rawal-Jugni.Peshawar is abbreviated from Purushpura (Sanskrit) which means “City of Men”.Taxila (now Rawalpindi) is privileged to have one of the oldest university of the world. It was important center of Hinduism and Budhism. Even Taxila is abbreviated name of Thaksha which was son of Lord Bharat.The inhabitants of Indus Valley and Gandhara Valley were mostly Hindus/Buddhists.Just giving you an example out of the box, this is currency note of Indonesia (largest Muslim country in the world). And some of you might get shocked to see the sign of Lord Ganesha is at 20K Rupiah.It is my humble request to not feel any shame. Due to our consistent denial, we are consistently getting such kind of questions one after another at social media. We need to keep this fact in mind that Islam is only 1.4k years old religion and obviously there were people who were following other faiths. It is understandable our ancestors were following other religions before Islam. Even if we take as Arab ancestry for a while, many people in Arab were idol worshipers before Islam. Hinduism at the other end is widely considered as one of the oldest religion in the world and was most practiced in modern day Pakistan before the arrival of Islam. This is not about the ethnic group but a state as of whole.Its Sikkim and Darjeeling.Though Darjeeling is a town of West Bengal, people of Darjeeling and Sikkim have almost the same mindset. In this area, we have more than 20 ethnic groups. But the common language spoken here is Nepali. Majority of us know Hindi and English as well ( Thanks to saas bahu TV series ).I know the culture and mindset of almost all the north Indian states and some of the south Indian states too.In terms of liberty, we, the people of these areas are the most liberal to the best of my knowledge.Edit:To all those who, after reading this article, may doubt that wearing shorts/drinking/etc are not the form of liberty;General liberty that the females here enjoy like taking up the family financial issue, attending public meeting, leading a village or leading a constituency, becoming village panchayat, leading the delegation, taking up a social cause, etc etc.... It is so common that we don't consider it as a liberty. We consider it as their birth right. Hence I will not mention it here. It would be like " Oh! you did graduation. But did you pass SSC?" Hence the below answer is about other form of liberty.Dowry"What the fuck do you mean by dowry?"This will be the first reaction of the general public here.Forget about the money or gift that the bride's parents have to give in the wedding, people here don't know what dowry is.Wedding expenses!Well, in other parts of India, parents start to save the money right from the birth of a girl child.Here, got the right bridegroom today, OK! lets plan for the wedding of my daughter from today. And within a week's notice. It is done.How?Here, we have a system called "Sarai", meaning that every family attending the wedding will donate some amount to the bride's family. Amount varies anywhere from Rs 10 to Rs 1000 or even more sometimes. You will have to donate the amount as per your capabilities. If you don't donate then it is a shame on you being the part of our society. And the point to be mentioned here is that, a normal wedding ceremony's cost doesn't exceed Rs 1 Lakh.Many a times, the bride's family end up collecting more money than their expenses.Oh, I forgot to mention. If you are a bridegroom, what do you expect from a bride's family as a gift for you? TV? Car? Sofa set? Bed? Kitchen set? Fridge? Ac? Flat ? Land or some property? 10 Lakh cash?You will get "baba ji ka thullu". ( You will get nothing ).Here, we give a gold ring and a suit. That's all. Sometimes, a rich family may give sofa set.So by this culture, there is no hatred towards a girl child. We love our girls equally at par with our boys. Since there is no investment apart from food and education, female here enjoys the liberty at the fullest.Wanna wear Mini Skirts or Shorts?Yes, you are free to wear whatever you want and no one bitches about it. Nor your family/relatives, neither your neighbors.Notice in the below image that no one in the public is staring.You are a Girl and want to go out to the streets, make a gang and tease others?Yes, here you can. ( image for representation )Here, it is common sight to see a group of girls commenting and teasing a guy. Yes, boys also do tease the girls. This is the gender neutrality. ( Many a times, when alone in the streets of Gangtok, I have been teased upon by many.)How about a girl shouting in front of all the students " I love You"?One day, while I was in class 9, one of the girl of my class from a corner of the playground shouted at me " Bhutesh, I love You ". And I was like crying.It is not that she was madly in love with me. She was teasing me in front of all. And doing this, she won't be tagged as characterless. It was me who was at the center of all the jokes for weeks.One day, one of our friend came to us and started sobbing. When asked, he said some of the girls teased him. And we laughed our asses out. We were like "get the hell out of our gang. You are crying because you were teased upon".Furthermore an example of liberty.While in class 6, one of the senior girls approached me and said " hey boy, how big is your pe***?"It was raining back that time and I still remember that me running away crying like a hell.But it is fun! You tease them ( not to pass sexiest comment ). They too will tease you. Now think who will feel more jocular?Want to go to School?Well, everybody here goes to school. There is no concept of child labour here. Literacy rate of Sikkim is 82.2 %. I guess, girls are given more privilege for study as of now.Fear of being molested or raped?The Hell No. Sikkim is one of the most peaceful state of India. I am 25 and as of now, I have heard only some cases of rape, and that too turned out to be consensual. I am talking about the state as of whole.And let me remind you that the concept of rape doesn't even exists here.So no question of being molested or raped.Fear of home violence towards a girl child or women?Again the answer is a ******* Big NO.Sikkim is that state of India which has the highest respect and empowerment towards women. Sometimes they fight and we can hear the hue and cry. But still none of us go to the rescue.Do you know why?Because every time, it is the husband who gets a good beating from his wife. And every time, he is at the fault.Want to go out at night? Want to sit in the open park or a bar and drink? Wanna Smoke in public?And by doing all this, you won't be called a slut here.Note: Smoking in Public is banned in Sikkim.You will find many girls roaming here and there at 10 pm also. ( In Sikkim, all the activities and shops are closed by 9 pm). You will also find Girls going to bar and drinking beer and whisky. Girls even go to the wine shops and buy their drinks themselves. And no one gives a rude look " Oh my god, a girl is buying a beer!"Want more liberty??Here, we have government, police, armed force and army. No ******* Khap Panchayat, Bajrang Dal, VHP or any ******* Babas or similar kind ofgroup-ism on whose diktat, almost many Indians live. We enjoy the liberty.I have many Muslim and Sikh friends here who drink and do whatever they want. No * one to issue fatwas. Oh! Yes, I am talking about my female friends.We all worship, we all pray and we all follow our religion. But still, we do whatever we want to do. Be it a girl or a boy.More liberty?Want to elope with your boyfriend/girlfriend? No one gives a damn here. Only the problem is that you will be upsetting your parents if they don't like your partner. But still not a problem. After some 2-3 months, you will be called back and Voila! you are done. You will live a happy married life.My cousin brothers have done the same. One of my brother was in love with a girl. But the girl's family opposed. So what. They eloped. And yes, with the consent of our family. With the consent of his dad and mom.Oh, and here, to elope means not to leave the state. Just go to another area or to a relative's house.Nor do we do bitching like " Oh my god, the daughter of our neighbor eloped with her boyfriend!" neither our neighbors do.Still want more liberty?There are cases of girls being pregnant before marriage. What do you expect? Honour Killing? Kill the Girl.Not here. Though it is a matter of shame, but at least, she doesn't get killed.Things are handled by appropriate methods. But you will notice that nobody is so eager to do that now?Ronald Reagan was much more popular than Donald Trump. Even Reagan’s opponents had some respect for Reagan, which none of Trump’s opponents have for Trump. And I would argue that Reagan is a far more worthy occupant of the White House than Donald Trump.So, let’s be traditional here. Conservatives: I dare you to live up to your name.Let us wait for twenty years after Donald Trump passes away. If his cult is still willing to worship him when he’s been dead and gone that long, then fine. Put his ugly face on the penny.
