“Oh you are JUST a house wife but I thought you are highly qualified?”Paraphrase it, rephrase it, ultimately this is what I hear from most aunties or uncles whom I meet on family gatherings or marriages.I really get all worked up with this comment but they being elders I just jokingly put it off by saying “because hiring a maid, a cook, a nanny, a financial advisor, a budget planner and a chaufer is too expensive so I substitute for all these roles”. The reaction on their face to this reply is priceless.I mean seriously what is so JUST about being a house wife. In my opinion it's the toughest job ever.Okay I agree if I had a choice I would be working but given my life circumstances and my chronic ailment I settled for what I thought was a best option at that time.Later on to realise that the most thankless job in the whole wide world is being a home maker. You slog your ass off from day till night. On top of that you dont get paid a dime.It's not easy being (I repeat) a maid, a cook, a nanny, a budget planner, a financial advisor, a chaufer and recently to add on to my repertoire a care taker as well.My mother in law has started living with us because of oldage and she is not able to manage on her own. Believe me its tough. Most home makers would know what I am talking about. :PSo next time you easily dismiss off or demean some one saying she is just a home maker, think twice. Imagine what chaos the world would be without them.A big shout out to all the homemakers out there, If you feel you are not getting enough credit, never mind give yourself a pat in the back.Juggling so many chores is not a joke. You are no less than a Superwoman. Kudos to you.Cheers :)
