In addition to what others have said, I should also point out that you need to have letters of support/recommendation from recognized leaders in your research field in order to be promoted to an associate professor. This is where networking is very important in academia. Without active networking on the academia circuit, most people would not be familiar with your research even if you had published in top journals. Publishing in top journals does not actually say very much about your ability to perform independent research or have a coherent research program. For example, you could get papers published in top journals by having a peripheral role in the project that formed the basis for the papers.Another reason could be that there is someone on the faculty actively opposing your promotion. Thus, even if you could qualify on the basis of your academic merits, someone might be interested in getting you to leave for non-meritocratic reasons. Sadly, politics often rears its ugly head in such circumstances. This is where assistant professors have to play office politics, even if it were done only to neutralize such threats. More importantly, I have been told enough stories to believe that such things tend to happen more often in Asian countries.

The campus life at MSM is really good. My experience at MSM was exhilarating. You find students as well as faculties from different parts of the country coming together and having fun and growing every day.Extra-curricular activities form an integral part of a student’s overall development in MSM. The college conducts many personality development events like Master Premier League ( MPL) , Simulation games. The MPL has many activities like corporate story presentation, News Master, Book Review, Business plan, Debate, Research paper presentation, etc.Theatre classes at MSM is an initiative to improve communications and expressions.Regular visits to industries as well as for recreation is a part of life on campus. All festivals of all religions and regions are celebrated in the campus, which are planned by the student committee and supported by the institution.It has various clubs to enhance student's skills in various fields. Placement opportunities provided by the MSM is quite good, and it is better than many top ranking colleges of India.The Environment of the college is very peaceful. It has an amazing infrastructure with all the facilities enabled. The management of the college is very helpful and available at all times.
