How will my father prove an Indian citizenship provided he was born in 1952 when birth registration was not in India?

I am approximately of the same age as your father, so I can probably answer this question. He must be having any one of these documents:Matriculation/Secondary school certificate or an extract of school recordsPassportElectoral roll/Voter IDUnlike Hindu marriages, Muslim marriages are recorded in a written certificate (Nikahnama) which is signed by the Qazi and some witnesses. These Nikahnamas are available with the local waqf authorities. So the Nikahnama of your paternal grandparents will be sufficient proof of citizenshipIn case he had inherited ancestral property, the registered ownership documents of that particular property (title deeds). It should not be a problem for him to prove his citizenship of India.

What are your experiences in Chennai? Do you like Chennai?

Though I am a resident of karnataka, I was born in Chennai since my maternal grandparents lived in Chennai. My mother too was brought up in Chennai and studied in women's Christian college (wcc). My grandparents stayed in sait colony, Egmore.Till my grandparents passed away in 1972, we used to go to Chennai(then Madras) every year during summer holidays. So I have some sort of invisible soul connection with the city. The last time I went to Chennai was about 20 years back. So when my son's CA convocation was to be held there 2 weeks back, we decided to drive down to chennai to attend it.We started at 7am in the morning. Everyone had told us it was a straight road. So once we exited Bengaluru we switched off the GPS and continued straight. There were many tolls on the way. But after passing Krishnagiri the signages were showing only the distance to Madurai and not to Chennai. So at the next toll gate we asked them. They told us that at Krishnagiri we should have taken a left deviation. We had overshot ahead by 60kms. We didn't know what to do. Already there was a queue of vehicles behind us.But the people manning the tolls were good enough to ask all the vehicles behind us to reverse. They helped us to reverse, as if we passed the toll gate and took a U turn we would have to pay toll. They never grumbled about it, though my husband was grumbling because they had not put up a big enough signage at Krishnagiri. I was pleasantly surprised by this as we are used to rude behavior on the roads in Bengaluru. We reached Chennai at about 2.30pm, because we had to go back 60kms again to take the right route.Even in the city we had to reverse the car quite a few times because of wrong turns. All the cars behind would wait patiently, no honking or swearing at all. We had thought people would not be accomodating seeing our car with karnataka registration. But it was totally opposite. People were good and polite. We used to have our food in their famous saravana bhavans. We got by with my husband's broken tamil.Traffic also was not as bad as Bengaluru. Sound pollution is less as honking is almost nil.The weather was hot even in January/February. Many parts of the city stink unbearably. But we found the people quite tolerant, soft spoken and helpful. Perhaps I have a soft corner for the city, since I was born there.Yes I liked Chennai and enjoyed my short holiday there. Maybe the a/c room in a good hotel also had a large part to play in it.

Why is life so difficult in India? Why do we have to fight or compete at every stage of life?

Life is so difficult in India because of the following reasons:near infinite people competing for the same thing in every sector of life: entrance exams, home registration, tickets for train, cheap tickets for flight, weekend bookings in a delhi restaurant, woo a hot chic, nob of jobs vs no of applicationswe will not follow the rule: Indians have never and will never follow rules. They always believe in mending rules to get ahead in the race. see a normal busy square without signals and you shall know what I am sayingwe will always be slave to rituals: common sense doesnt appeal here anyone. rituals appeal a lot. even if after the ritual is done you talk about why was the ritual made in the first placelack of innovative thinking: when people are ritualistic in general, innovation becomes tough. The first person innovating for trying to do something different is pulled down.population as a general curse: in almost every department of life in India, ask yourself what if population was 40 Crores instead of 125 Crores and you will see my point. Less populated nations are happy nations because citizens dont have to fight for the last drop of waterlack of education: Indians are born uneducated. so they didnt know or couldnt see the ill effects of having 6 kids. The 6 kids produced by an average grandparent at 1960 has caused what you see as 125 Crore huge population nation.
