Hey there! I’m a sophomore right now. Please be aware that when this was published, I have only been a sophomore for 3 days, so don’t expect me to be knowledgeable on how my classes are like yet. When the year progresses, I will add on to this. Also, at my school, we have all of our periods all the time except during finals week. Anyway, enjoy reading this!1st period - Keys to Success-They took away AP Chemistry to put me in this class, but I can always take AP Chemistry junior year.-This is a class for people needing help with communication skills, organization skills, + some other stuff. For the organization, I’m already pretty organized, so I just get extra homework time during that timeAlso this class only has about 10 people, so we get more individual attention.2nd period - Japanese 2So far, since I’m only 3 days into Japanese 2, we’re just reviewing stuff from Japanese 1.Teacher is nice, people are ok so far.3rd period - World HistorySince I’m only 3 days into World History, I haven’t done any actual history stuff yet. On Thursday, we just did a drawing activity in which in Round 1, the leader tells the instructions of what shapes to draw to the drawer, + in Round 2, the leader writes down the instructions to give to the drawer. Friday, we answered some questions about that + started on the Lunchroom Fight thing, in which multiple people have different accounts of 1 fight but no one lied. I think that all this stuff is to build communication skills with your classmates.4th period - Algebra 2/TrigSo far in math, we did a worksheet that is review from Algebra 1 + Geometry, + started on the first 3 lessons. All of the Algebra 2/Trig lessons are pretty easy, since they’re foundational stuff.Unlike in Accelerated Geometry, which is made up of mostly freshmen + a few sophomores, Algebra 2/Trig is composed of about half sophomores, half juniors, + a few freshmen that took Geometry in 8th grade.Teacher’s ok so far, the people that IK so far are ok.Lunch (not a class, I’m just putting it in here so you know when I have lunch.)5th period - CP English 2So far, I didn’t start on any English stuff yet. On Thursday, we did slides on what makes you successful in HS. On Friday, we made a culture quilt in which you put your hand on a piece of paper folded in half, draw one “culture”, what makes you you, on the left side, going over into the right side of the hand, then the other “culture” on the right side + left side of the hand. Every sophomore English class is doing the culture quilt so if anyone gets a schedule change, the person will barely miss anything.6th period - Cross countryThis sport is very tiring, but it teaches you endurance. So far, the coaches are pretty nice, the people are nice. We also had our 1st meet on Saturday, August 31st. The 1st 90 people to finish in each division got a medal. I got 96th, + my time, 18:50.4 was faster than the girl’s coach. The best part of the meet was being able to bond with my best friend, being able to run with runners from other schools cheer me on, + the refreshments after. The school whose test was next to my school’s actually brought Cup Noodles to the meet, + I was a bit jealous.

So, you more or less want to have more frequent tests, and the effect to be to limit the material? So instead of having to know say, all of the 5 major integration techniques (at least 4 others are mostly Algebra or Trig based), it is broken down into says, 3 tests of only 3 techniques each?If I cam across a professor that did this in order to increases Calc II scores, I would first argue to his department chair to be fired and then hunt him down and beat the crud out of him. The Real world will not parse each problem down into one section. You will get a function and the part of deciding which technique to apply and apply correctly is up to YOU. BY making it ‘easier’ for students all he is doing is ensuring is further employment by making it easier on your as students and thus getting higher review scores but at the same time crippling you for the future. They are ruining students to keep their career going.I tackle this issue by focusing on the true story: the integrand form tells you which method is best to use. I tend to spend a maximal amount of course time doing zero-credit worksheets of about 10-problems per class and of them , about 3 use a previously covered methods so that students are forced to use more than just blindly using the current method.
