ITP: idiopathic thrombocytopenic perpuraI was almost 3 year old when one day I had normal fever so my parents took an appointment of a nearby local doctor(worst mistake ever) and he gave me an injection and some medicine ..as I reached home my heart stared beating faster and i started bleeding through my nose ,mouth and urine…my parents got scared and took appointment of lok Nayak (arbin) hospital ,after examine doctors told my parents that “my platelets are dying in a fastest rate and my present count is only 40000 and it is because of some infected drugs in my body.(due to that injection)..i got admitted in hospital for complete one and half year..sometimes I used to came home after discharge for festival ,when my parents request to doctors for a discharge of atleast one day so that I can enjoy with my family but soon my bleeding start again within hours…so I urgently needed emergency after next few hours of my discharge…my two years passed like this ..you can say on complete bed rest , puking blood and with tons of medicine…my body was always swoolen cause of medicine..4 yr old me..(my parent gave me a set of books and uniform as I can't attend actual school..and this is the photoshoot for my fake identity card ) I also have an elder sister and it effect her life to great extent as she started cooking and taking all the responsibilities at the early age of 10 … my father worked in a private company my mother used to stay with me in a hospital …after complete two n half year arbin doctors finally refered me to AIIMS delhi ..Well here my journey start ..we come to know that I was suffering with chronic ITP and my symptoms wasAcute bleeding through nose mouthBlood in urine and stoolsExcessive bruising all over my bodyPic source: google Believe me it hurts alot as u can imagine how much it hurts when you hit yourself by mistake and get a big blue spot with blood clot in it…and my body almost 80% (or more) covered with it that time…also I was literally fed up with uncountable blood tests..I still get terrified when I imagine those days when my parents hold me tightly on bed and doctor try to collect blood samples from my feets but they can't even after 4 or 5 attempts due to lack of blood in my body…and i was screaming like a mad in hospital premises.Treatment was done by doctors of haemotology department and irony was we came to know that the local doctor with whom we took medicine was not even a doctor , he worked as a helper (if it's the correct word) to submit files in AIIMS delhi even in same department...well my parents never tried to take a legal action against him (well seond mistake cause he still act like a professional doctor and give treatment to people , he doesn't even have a degree) because first they just wanted to save their child life…I lost my childhood my happiness my life because of him.. I lost 2 decades of my life because of him.Soon doctors gave us date for my spleen removing surgery splenectomy…my father signed a paper something like” no objection certificate”(I don't know what it actually named, but I remember my father cried for hours after signing it) ..as u can't blame doctors if they are not able to save patient…Pic source: google There is a different story how I got selected over thousands of patients for surgery even when my parents can't afford it ,definitely god was kind on us that timeAlso I'm the first child case in AIIMS hospital who was going through splenectomy in such a young age (6)..before me two operation miserably failed so my parents are really terrified .i remember patient name sonu bhaiya spend almost 6 month beside me but inlast he can't make it .Well after so many years of my operation nothing changes…as doctor told my parents that it affect in my teenage…and it come true..now I'm suffering with heavy menses..last yr I got admitted because my menses didn't stop even after 24 days…well now I'm in better state but my periods are still irregular nd prolong..it ends between 10 to 16 days .…and most of the time I still need medical help…I don't know why but after surgery or blood transfusion I guess, my skin developed some weird kind of allergies and it is extremely dry to touch and even my parents have less wrinkled skin than me. They need to stabilize the patient on the scene. I would expect them to take 10 to 20 minutes on the scene. In this day and age of Paramedic & EMT education, I would be concerned if they "scooped and ran" with your child.If you want to help the ambulance crew have the patient’s name, date of birth, if possible an ID card like a driver’s license. Then get a list of their allergies, a list of their medications, a list of their past medical history. The ambulance crew also need to know when they ate something last, and when they drank something, anything including water. If you can, keep the patient from eating or drinking anything until the patient sees the doctor at the hospital.Another question they are going to ask what signs, symptoms or events lead up to why you called 9–1–1. All of this will help them immensely. Companies make “vials of life” and medication ID bracelets that help with this, but you need to update it at least monthly or more often as needed.Even if you do all that before the ambulance crew arrives, they still have to medically stabilize the patient. That could take 20+ minutes.Your help will be greatly appreciated.
