Because I was in a vulnerable position, I could not give any answer to him.Any how he gave medical certificate and I joined the office.For first few months I was assigned the job of passing the bills of these panel doctors.If there is even one discrepancy in the bill, I would write about it and submit it to my senior. My boss was an honest man.Once a bill of one the panel doctors came to me for checking. This was the doctor’s bill to whom I went for medical check up.There were many discrepancies in the bill. Total amount claimed by the doctor was not matching with the medical forms submitted by the employees.The bill amount was almost 50% more.Writing all the discrepancies, I submitted it to my boss. The next day I was called to his chamber. There this doctor was also sitting.As I entered and took my seat, the senior said “ Doctor is complaining that there is unreasonable deduction in his bill. Please explain why you have deducted the amount”Showing each and every entry and comparing each with forms submitted by the employees, I explained every thing to both senior and the doctor.“Doctor, I told you before. She is one of the efficient accountants in this office. I think now your doubts are cleared” said my senior.The doctor and I came out of the chamber.“Doctor, I think now your opinion of the efficiency of women is changed” I said smiling.He said nothing. Walked away with great speed.(Note: Had the bill not belonged to that particular doctor, I would have done the same thing with the bill)
