Roger Stone has been involved in a lot of dirty business over the years as a political operative and while that may not be illegal by all means breaking the law certainly is. Regardless of his backers, he did break the law and was tried and CONVICTED by a court of law with his peers and with his background and propensity to break not only these laws but other laws he deserves whatever jail time of a reasonable amount to hold him.People with much less criminal intent and crimes against the state or government get held much longer for lesser crimes. For example in my home state of Indiana, one of the people in the Northern part of the state was arrested for marijuana possession and end up getting a 28 year sentence for the crime by some judge. Do you think that is fair for someone to get what is virtually a 1/3 life sentence assuming 85 years average death age? For possessing something that is not only found to be medically useful but also for treating harder drug issues like heroin/opiates etc? For the simple act of possession which should get them maximum of maybe a few months or a year in the county slammer instead getting 28 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections? Or someone being thrown into jail for contempt of court for not allowing the politically biased judicial system with judges who don’t follow the Indiana Code, Indiana Constitution and US Constitution?Meanwhile, plenty of government officials who have committed worse crimes and some felonies end up getting sent to Club Fed for a nice limited jail sentence where they can live it up at taxpayer expense and basically get treated with kid gloves while some African American youth gets killed for some minor crime. Or the case of George Zimmerman acting as a neighborhood watchman chasing down Treyvon Martin and then shooting him when a physical altercation ensued?People talk all this tough talk about law and justice and order and it really exists that there is TWO AMERICAS. One for the privileged and well connected and able to afford a lawyer with connections and power to get them out of trouble. Then another for defendants in a criminal case where if you’re not one of the local small town good old boys you ended getting railroaded by the political system and the crooks in the local town government.Such a case happened in my hometown of Salem, Indiana about 30 years ago now where two local men were railroaded and framed by the local authorities and one went to jail for just telling the other man how to build an incendiary device which is perfectly legal to tell someone as long as you don’t build it. All because the local politician claimed that he was targeted because of some lifelong jealousy issue from the other man. That’s the type of crap that happens in small town America and I know it happens in larger cities where if you’re not the right color or in the wrong part of town you end up paying the price including paying with your life, liberty and personal freedom. That’s the type of double sided justice system exists in America.If Roger Stone, with millions of dollars can’t get appropriate justice under the law and under the US Constitution then what happens to people with $1 on them or a few bucks in the bank who can’t afford justice except to be issued a states defense attorney that will try to get them free though they are often overworked, underpaid and overburdened by cases. Is that American justice?
