Absolutely.A few years ago, I was regularly eating Sunday dinner at my favorite Buffet Restaurant, tipping $1 on a $10 buffet price ($10 including drink, tax, and dessert). I started getting the Salad Bar instead ($6 including drink, tax and dessert), but increased my tip to $2. The service is great.As other people have commented, I disagree with the federal government allowing restaurant owners and managers to pay their servers slave wages, but I will NOT penalize my servers by not tipping them for good (or even average) service.The only circumstance under which I will refuse to tip is:If the service is bad enough that I am willing to talk to the manager or owner and explain why I am not tipping, orI forgot to put enough money in my pocket, in which case I explain to the server, and promise to bring them a double-tip next time. (I remember one time I didn’t realize I had no money until the food was served, so I immediately told the owner and she said “no problem”. I paid (and tipped) a week later.

You have no legal way of doing that.A bonus is a gift.It is a discretionary gift.Unless you have an employment contract (most people don’t) saying you will be guaranteed a bonus, if your boss feels like you didn’t earn one, they are perfectly within their rights to deny one to you.I would suggest you have a serious talk with your boss (one on one) to find out the reason(s) your bonus was not granted. Solutions are difficult to come by, if one does not understand the problem.
