Pharmacists do take this seriously.

As for why Yuan Wei wrote these words, my inclination is that it is probably because US is on the other side of ocean of China. In Chinese sense of aesthetics, viewing each other across the vastness of the ocean and listening to each other over the crashing wave is quite pleasing. So Yuan Wei just decided to write something about the scene.The script, however, became some of a joke on Chinese internet. This is because the Chinese president back then, is Hu Jintao (胡锦涛).That’s right, the last character of the Chinese president’s name is the same as the last character of the script. Also, since the museum were given out all sorts of momentos for the event, Obama and other guests received replicas of the tiger amulets as gifts.These combined caused a joke to start on the Chinese internet forum. Because a tiger amulet is typically given to field generals by leaders of a nation, so they are joking that Obama is actually secret a spy who receive orders from China since that script can also be (mis)interpret as “Guanghai (as a person’s name), listen to (Hu Jin) Tao”.BTW, Chinese government didn’t plan this at all, because the request to write the script is actually from the US ambassador.Now, ordinarily, jokes like this simply comes and goes.
