Several active teachers in Illinois make over $100k annually, so they’re close.Anyway, in the US, teachers are paid by local school districts. Those school districts get most of their funding through local property taxes. Forcing schools to pay their teachers $150k annually would bankrupt most school districts or require a massive tax hike on the locals.What would most likely happen is the wealthiest districts would cut the “specials” teachers to fund the other teachers. Classes like Art and Music would be the first to go.The poorer districts, where many of those things have already been cut, would have to fire regular teachers and increase class sizes. Imagine a class with 70–80 students, mostly from poorer families. It wouldn’t really be “teaching” at that point. Just “holding” until they age-out of the system.Private school districts, like mine, would just close their schools. They could never pay that much for a teacher. The parents would probably form clubs and home-school their children.Overall, it would be a disaster for the education system in America. It would just increase educational inequality along socio-economic lines. The children of the wealthy would still be fine. The children of the poor would be even more screwed.

I live in the Copperleaf area, which is a pretty nice neighborhood. It is in the Cherry Creek School District, one of the best school districts in Colorado, and it is in South-East Aurora.

Well, from my personal experience, I'm going to have to say my hometown of East Aurora, New YorkEast Aurora is a small rural town about 45 minutes away from the city of Buffalo.East Aurora is a beautiful town with rich history. The village was originally founded in 1804, becoming incorporated in 1874. The village is home to a little over 6,000 people. The community is filled with honest, hardworking folk, and the bonds between our residents are incredibly strong.Below is the house that US president Millard Fillmore built during his residence in the town, between 1826 and 1830.The area is rich with history and craftsmanship, including the beautiful Roycroft campus, founded by Elbert Hubbard.The school district and it's athletics are top of the line. For multiple years in a row, East Aurora High School has been ranked number 1 in education throughout the entire area.They athletics are great as well, with a decent football team every year, and also a hockey team thats looking for it's fourth state championship in a row.Of course, the snow does take some getting used to, but when you can get involved with the community, East Aurora is an absolutely beautiful place to live
