My worst fears are realised. When Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee made her reckless, unsubstantiated and irresponsible statement against central forces, I was apprehensive that something tragic and unfortunate like this could happen. Some blind supporters of TMC took her words as gospel truth and this precipitated action leading to firing and death happened. It is slur on our democracy. Rightly, Prime Minister expressed his deep sorrow and anguish in the matter as all right thinking people should. It was wrong and foolish to instigate people against security services. Now is time for all to ensure peace and harmony.Four persons were reportedly killed as CISF personnel resorted to firing allegedly after coming under attack from locals. It is learnt that CISF and other security forces were attacked by a mob. First, they were attacked around 9:40 am and again an hour later, the polling booth was attacked. CISF resorted to firing to prevent booth capturing and snatching of their arms. CCTV recording and other evidence which are available will be shared with the Election Commission and poll officer. It happened at Sitalkuchi of Cooch Behar when bombs were hurled and police initially resorted to lathicharge. Essentially it was an isolated law and order problem.Mamata Banerjee in her reply to the Election Commission has stated in writing that she has not incited violence against Central forces. On other hand quite belligerent she has sought the resignation of Union Home Minister. She has threatened to visit the site of violence tomorrow to escalate the matter. I find the voice of Modi is only sane voice around.Incidentally, the Election Commission has suspended voting in the affected booth.
