Accommodations Students Faculty: Please Initial: Fill & Download for Free

As of 2 Sept 2018I am a student at IIIT Guwahati, so I find my self perfectly eligible to answer this question.(Please read my verdict about the College at end)1.Campus Facility(A) Infrastructure:We have moved into our new campus just couple of months back, so lot of things are still not in place.We have fully functional admin block cum lecture hall complex which is air conditioned(except ECE lab which do have AC but never works for some reason) and WiFi Connectivity.Both boys and girls hostel have Double sharing room for freshers with common bathroom and rest have there single accommodation rooms with attached bathroom(not joking).But some lucky guys who joined institute after special round got single accommodation room in 1st year itself and girls too have been allotted single accommodation room because being less in numbers(we have 28:1 boys to girls ratio in batch of 2022).Hostel too have WiFi and permission place own AC in room can be taken from administration.Boys Hostel just got a TV that haven't been installed, but girls hostel might not have one yet,according to my knowledge.There are Faculty Apartment inside the campus.Library— This is one places that actually Sucks.Our Library is smaller then some of good high schools.Even a book enthusiast have more collection of books. All the books that are there mostly related course and not enough to accommodate needs of all students.(B) FOOD :At this moment we don’t have any cafeteria.There is one small place in Admin block where you can get Coffee and snacks(but stays close on weekend).Also there is a Food trucks and a Restaurant just outside gate 1 and 2 respectively which might full-fill your needs (As of now I found 60% of there food to be crap).Hostel mess is a total mess.College failed to provide enough infrastructure to caterers that causes long queue to get a couple of roti or dosa(most of time it take 25–30 mins). Also Caterer i.e. SOUTH COAST CATERING SERVICE failed to make any improvement like a usual shitty hostel caterer.We will have a small cafeteria inside the hostel but it might take some time.Also a fully-fledged College Cafeteria look like a PIPE DREAM as of now.Even when our cafeteria will be in place I find it hard to compete with Legends of IITs,Top NITs or BITS.(C) Sports Facilities:We do not have sports complex and gym.There is a Temporary field and volleyball court, where students try to do all short of stuffs.There is a TT table and a Carrom board inside Boys hostel which are 24 hours accessible. Girls Hostel according to my knowledge don’t have any short of sports facility.Sports facility may improve in 2 to 3 years(fingers crossed).2.Campus Activity:We have a Cultural-Techno fest Yuvaan which is improving every time.Previous versions of fest are comparable to some elite schools annual fest(literally). But it will improve as student base is growing tremendously which brings with it for funds.E-Cell also organised a entrepreneurial met,and they have the biggest budget(around 15 crore) of all groups in college so they might become most happening group with current high influx of 2022 batch.There are half a dozen clubs,mainly:1.Dance2.Music(No instruments are provided by college, mostly seniors are providing there personal instruments.)3.Movie(Most screening takes place in Lecture Gallery)4.Literary5.Quiz6.CodingAll the Clubs lacks resources that you can find in some good institute.You can start any club with your peers officially but possibility is high that they too will lack resources as other current clubs.But hats off to students as they are trying persistently to improve current conditions.3.Faculty:Both ECE ,CSE and Maths departments have staff with PhD's from prominent Indian institutes like IIT, IISc, ISI,IIIT hyderabad and top central universities.Department of HSS have staff with PhD's from DU,JNU and IITs.We don’t have our own science faculty so most of the science courses are taken by professors of IIT Guwahati mainly.All the faculty are really cooperative and promote research at UG level.Profs if find your personal project appealing possibly even help you with funding too(but its a tough job).4. Curriculum:This is Biggest selling point for our institute. Our institute follow industry based curriculum with a focus on research.Courses changes every year depending upon current world need.Even students can make suggestion to add new courses.This is how our 1st year course look likeThis how IIT Bombay 1st year course look likeSo I leave Curriculum Comparison to you.By No mean I am comparing legends of IITB to nationwide unrecognisable small institute like us, such a comparison will be a joke as our guru the director GAUTAM BARUA too have got his lessons from IITB.But on curriculum we do have en edge from other institutes.more info on http://iiitg.ac.in/curriculum.php5. Connectivity:Campus is situated at 4 km distance from airport and at distance of 25km city centre.Weekly Shuttle Bus facilities are provided by the institute.Connectivity will improve with increase in student base because of obvious social-economical reason.VERDICT:Campus Facilities: 5/10Faculty:8/10Curriculum: 10/10Food:5/10Cumulative percentage:70%(Campus facilities+ Faculty + Curriculum + Food)If you are passionate about studying CSE and ECE this place is for you.But don’t expect fancy fest as that of IIT , TopNITs or BITS.And initially you might not able to enjoy fancy sports facilities either at the beginning.Things are getting better and they will improve as time will pass.Till then lets cross are fingers and hope that are fingers don’t get cramped.

Sure, by help, if you mean talking about our experience to the freshers, being a bridge between the students and admin, faculties at times or trying to come up with a structure to accommodate the new hostel allocation system that is being evolved for the freshers, Yes.If this question is really about the allocation of freshers to new hostels, please note that Mitr DID NOT INITIATE the current hostel allocation system for the freshers. We are merely trying to find ways of making the freshers feel at home in the institute.If you really think Mitr isn't helping, we are open to any suggestions you may have in this regard.

I was in dropper batch of GATE ACADEMY. So, I'll try to answer this with respect to dropper batch.Like most of the students I came to know about this institute through YouTube. I was really inspired by Dhande sir and his style of teaching.I got 4k rank in my final year and really wanted to convert it under 200 rank. My friends suggested me to go to Hyderabad but I joined GATE ACADEMY. I joined May batch.I arrived two days earlier and Gate academy team helped me a lot in finding comfortable accommodation in Bhilai.The first subject was Control systems and it was taught by Dhande sir himself. On first day itself I was sure I'm at the right place. He took exactly 15 days to complete it. But classes used to be very long. Dhande sir always said once you complete my class you won't require revision. And he was right. He covered almost everything possible in Control system.Meanwhile I met a guy who lived next to my room. He took coaching from gate academy the previous year. He always said that since you are having decent rank you should have gone to Hyderabad. This institute is good only for students who are joining from 4th semester. They are very slow in covering the syllabus. Initially I ignored him but after a month I could feel the same.The class timings were not managed properly after another batch in June started. It was just the start of misery..The classes went till January. My friends who went to Hyderabad completed their syllabus at the end of October. I was feeling very down not because I didn't prepare well but because I didn't have time for revision. Still somehow I could manage few full length tests along with one time revision. I guy who dreamed to come under 200 rank got 2.5k rank. Some of my friends who couldn't qualify in final year performed far better than me. And only reason was revision and tests.I've been under depression since the exams. Here's the real deal about Gate Academy..They take a hell lot of time in completing the syllabus. And the reason they give is that they provide the best content in India. Lol. Just check the academic backgrounds of teachers. Don't expect much.In name of best content they have nothing but Dhande sir and Saurabh sir. Every other faculty is below average. Believe me even a student who has studied for IIT JEE can teach mathematics far better than their teacher. He is the worst maths teacher I've seen. Students abuse him a lot. He shows fake confidence while teaching and can't solve good questions if you ask.Due to flood in of students seeing their fake advertisement on YouTube and their website, they couldn't manage things properly.Don't get misguided by their results. They print anything they feel like. No classroom student got better rank this time from their institute. They give very average results that too from students who are studying since 4th semester.They say that the institute is for average students. This is how they get lot of admissions. Every other student feels themselves as average. But guys believe me any average or below average student can be under 100 in GATE. How can anybody expect good results from institute who make every student feel like average. And after results they say that don't judge institute on basis of results. Then what should we see.Their testseries are the worst. Don't buy even if they provide for 90% discount. No management of time. Any question is for any marks. They put a video in YouTube saying they will provide video solution this that. But you won't find anything after two three tests.Previous year book is probably the best in the market. But with the price they have put you can buy previous year book of three other institutes in that amount.Don't judge them by their innocent faces. They are far better players than madeasy and ace in terms of business.If you are on their Facebook group you will understand how they do the chest thumping. Dhande sir himself used to say that if you like my lectures post in the group so that others can know how great I am. And stupid students used to do it.Dhande sir and their team is one of the best brainwashers I've ever seen.Biggest scam is the result that they show. This is where maximum people are misguided. They are not their students. If anybody gets a rank they will take credit for YouTube videos that they have and also their Facebook group.P.S : I'm writing this anonymously because I know many from their team will start abusing me. I tried it in the Facebook group. Their first I was abused a lot and when I gave them valid argument they blocked me.Juniors please talk to the people(who don't get brainwashed) studying there before joining. You are investing time and money both for your career. Sweet words don't give you results actions do. All the best
