I have enjoyed double decker bus ride both at Bangalore and Hyderabad.During my visit to Bangalore in 1968 I have had the ride both in DD and Trailer Bus. However it was a short stay and I don't remember much.I lived in Hyderabad for a considerable period from 1970 and enjoyed rides in both DD and Trailer Bus. There were two DD bus routes 8A Secunderabad to Charminar and 7 Secunderabad to Koti via Raniganj. The trailer bus was on route 1A running between Secunderabad and Koti via Musheerabad.Every Sunday I used to purchase ‘Travel as you please' tickets costing ₹ 1/- offering any No. of bus trips in any route till midnight. My travel schedule was from 7.00 to 19.00 hrs. I used to travel on all Sundays so much so that the counter clerk used to fill up my particulars and hand over the ticket as soon as he sees me.I used to sit on the top deck in the front with the glass shutters down and enjoyed the cool air and the panoramic view of the city.At one stage RTC introduced even triple decker buses. However my only seat choice has been as above.They withdrew those buses due to rising traffic density, construction of flyovers and lack of financial viability in 1980’s.The nation really misses these wonderful entertainment and educational experience!N.B: Please see the image of Triple Decker Bus. Well, honestly all centers of Aakash in Kolkata are too good. I haven't made it to one of the centers personally but one of my cousins took admission in the Central Kolkata one. He also visited others and what he learned was that all centers passed in his selection criteria. So he chose the one nearby his home. Let me add a little bit more contrast to flesh out the answer. As Mr. Barrad noted in his answer, all discharges have a reenlistment code on your DD-214. You should have received two copies of your DD-214. Reenlistment code meanings are available to the public, but, the code affixed to your DD-214 is NOT public information, and employers are not permitted to ask you. That’s why you get two DD-214s: one with the reenlistment code, and one WITHOUT the reenlistment code.Although reenlistment codes all start with a number, 1, 2, 3, or 4, which gives you a VERY general idea of reenlistment eligibility, the real key is the letter suffix, like “1A,” or “2C,” etc. In the case of a General Discharge, it AUTOMATICALLY carries a code of 2B, which is specially reserved for General Discharges, or anything characterized as less than honorable. There is a caveat to the automatic assignment of RE code 2B: Anything in RE code number 4, is basically a kiss-of-death, whereby the discharging authority has essentially decided on behalf of all four service branches, and the Coast Guard, “this person CANNOT reenlist anywhere for anything.” There are times where the discharging authority has some latitude to “cut you some slack,” and decides to give you a General Discharge and uses RE code 2B, instead of an RE code 4_.In any case, an RE code 2B will bar you from reenlistment in any of the four service branches and the Coast Guard. The general philosophy used by discharging authorities is: you made somebody unhappy enough, that it warrants a separation that does not meet the standards of an Honorable Discharge, so, you are given a General Discharge. A General Discharge, however, is not the final chapter in the book. The 2B RE code is definitely a hard stop for any reenlisting (recruiting) authority, but, it is not a hard stop for you. The military has a discharge board of appeals & corrections. The recruiter cannot do the work for you, but, he/she can point you in the right direction to file an appeal and separation correction request. The two primary factors the Board is going to look for is: 1.) An adequate passage of time after discharge (i.e.; they are not interested in helping someone who immediately “found Jesus” after they got the boot). There’s no formula for this, but, it’s going to take at least six months of civilian time before you would get any consideration at all. 2.) The Board is going to expect to see documented evidence of what and how you have rehabilitated yourself, and deserve to have your discharge upgraded to Honorable. The best way to look at this scenario is: it is easy for someone with a General Discharge to decide civilian life sucks, and I am going to see a recruiter about reenlisting. It’s another story to be told that it might be doable, but, you have to climb that mountain over there to do it. So, it’s a test, in a way, to see how bad you really want to do it. And there are no guarantees the Board will approve your appeal/reclassification request. If they don’t approve it, a mature person recognizes they have some more work to do, or pursue another career path away from the military.Best of luck!Ciao!
