What was the biggest scandal at your high school?

I graduated high school last year, so I’ll happily share all the drama that occurred and I’ll list them in every year that they occurred. Since I left school, I’ve actually remembered some events that I thought I’d forgotten.P.S I spent forever rewriting this answer to list everything! I’ll be sure to update as I remember new events! Don’t forget to upvote!Grade 8In grade 8, a group of popular, mean-girl type girls filmed a bunch of grade 9 girls fighting and posted the video to social media. There was a big meeting, and one teacher in particular was furious. The girls who were behind it got a thrashing and were suspended for a few days. Don’t do stuff like that kids, because it’ll come back to bite you. Some kids were doing stupid stuff like pulling each other’s pants down while they were doing community service activities. That put a bit of a stain on the school’s bush cadet program (as they called it).Grade 9Some idiotic kid leaked the answers to a science test that contributed to a major part of our grade. The school eventually found out who did it, but not after everyone who sat the science test had 10% taken off their total grade as a result of someone else’s stupidity and selfishness. I sat the test, and I had 10% taken off my grade, but still I passed.A kid jumped off the river cruise and swam back to shore on a dare and was subsequently banned for life. A bit of backstory: the river cruises were like a reward for good behaviour or academic achievement, etc at the end of each school term. They were great fun, because we’d dress up, socialise with friends and dance.A group of boys ended up getting suspended for kicking doors off the toilet stalls, and writing and drawing offensive stuff on the walls. This wasn’t limited to boys, girls were serious contenders too. There was one set of toilets that seemed to be the hotspot for people smoking because many a time I walked in and the smell of cigarette smoke would hit me in the face. It was made worse when whoever was smoking in there would try and cover their tracks by spraying deodorant everywhere.Speaking of toilets, the grade 9 toilets were especially bad. People would take great effort to block the toilets with toilet paper til they nearly overflowed and continued shitting in them. Toilet paper thrown on the walls and ceiling was an every day occurrence. And you know the trick of locking yourself in a stall, and then crawling under the door? That was also a regular occurrence with multiple toilets like that. Apparently the vandalism is so bad, that there is no space any more on the walls. This is more tragic, but the year I was in grade 9, the grade 12 head boy ended up passing away from stomach cancer a few years later. It was saddening, because he was loved by students and teachers alike and he spoke so well. The whole school went into lockdown because of some senior school kid’s bright idea to have a fight outside the cafeteria.During a bush cadet camp, a kid was kicked out for making racial comments and on another camping trip, another dumbass smashed a window after he jumped through it. The house was old, as I recall it was from the 1800s. The kid was kicked out.Grade 10Someone found divorce papers on a teacher’s computer through their own. The school had this really invasive software that enabled any staff member to see what was on a student’s computer through another system and that’s how the confidential information was found. From that, a rumour also spread that the same teacher had child pornography downloaded on his computer, but I’m not sure if that was true. It was probably a rumour that started since the teacher wasn’t particularly liked, because I haven’t heard anything since.A group of boys made a video about one of my close friends, with some pretty vulgar and nasty things said about her. My friend had dealings with the boys in the past, but nothing too serious. Things got so bad that she nearly went to the police to press charges. The threat of a criminal record whipped the boys into shape and they left her alone after that.A kid punched 3 holes in the wall of a classroom during a rampage. I didn’t see it actually happen, but I saw the aftermath because my English class was in that room. It was fixed eventually. Our internet usage was HEAVILY restricted after someone sent the entire school an email containing an ISIS video of someone being beheaded. I wisely didn’t open the link, because my parents told me not to after they found out first. Internet usage was restricted to the point where even some news websites were blocked and innocent YouTube videos with music in them were also blocked. Things were really wild. The culprit was someone who was always trying to mess with the computer system. After the incident, he was immediately suspended and I even think excluded because he never graduated.Grade 11/12Towards the end of my high school career, a group of grade 9 boys got into a fight and one of them ended up getting punched so hard, he had a seizure. It was on the news, although the news article exaggerated some details because I saw what happened first hand. The kid did recover but his parents wanted to press charges on the instigator. I’m not sure if that ever went through, because I didn’t hear anything more on the incident.A guy who wasn’t well liked got his girlfriend pregnant and broke up with her after she had a miscarriage. He then bedded someone else and dropped out before grade 12 started. He wasn’t well liked because he was so rude to students and staff alike. I had the privilege of sharing three classes with him and every lesson he’d fight with the teachers over the smallest of things. My sister joined the same high school as me when I was in grade 11, but this story happened when she was in grade 8 and I was in grade 12. The school had quite a bad drug problem, and the teachers were completely oblivious to it. Vaping and smoking was common all the time, and my sister saw a group of year 7s smoking weed out of a makeshift bong. They made the bong out of a hollowed our apple to have their fix. This was before weed became somewhat legalised.I can’t remember what grade these happened in, but they’re still scandalous so here they are!Two teachers that were having an affair together apparently had a workplace fling in one of the classrooms.A group of grade 12 students spray painted some nasty things about a couple of staff members on one of the buildings, including about one teacher who was one of the nicest and went above and beyond to help.Another group of grade 12 students burned a giant penis onto the school oval using weed killer as a prank. The school had to burn a giant square into the grass to get rid of it.Someone drew a swastika on the back of the bus that the school uses for excursions. It was dusty, so it served as this kid’s canvas. The dust scratched the paint of the bus, so now the swastika is permanent. The school has tried to wash the thing, but they can’t get rid of it. And the swastika isn’t facing the correct way either.2 students were part of a group that burned the nearby primary school, and the primary school students were relocated to our school and had their classes in demountable buildings that were situated on one of the ovals while the primary school had to be rebuilt. Of course, all of the students have criminal records because they thought it would be wise to start a fire in the undercover area of the school. It happened before I started high school, but still very serious!

When US cities are completely open and given the high unemployment rate nationwide, what will be the more popular crimes committed against the general public?

Same as always. “opportunity crimes”Most criminal activity just “happens”. A slight, a tone, a look—and BAM, violence happens. Guy walks by a house that looks to have been vacant for a few days, or that he knows the owners are at work—and BAM break&enter/home invasion.Unemployment is only a part of the problem. We need to increase educational opportunities and mental health treatment to those who would be at risk for future criminal activities. (starting about about 3rd grade!)
