Going anonymous to protect the privacy of my building. I work in a long term healthcare facility as a nurse aide. Although it's seen as just a job to most of the people there, it's something I truly love doing and as such I get very attached to some patients. The building I work in is specifically geared towards dementia patients and those with mental disorders. One of my favorite patients is a mentally challenged woman with schizophrenia. She's very very sweet, and has a somewhat stilted way of talking and has some problems forming words. One morning I walked into the shower room to retrieve a watch for a patient I'd given a shower to earlier and heard two of the other aides mocking her mercilessly as they showered her. She was very upset and crying, asking them to stop and saying she'd be good. I went into the stall to confront them and discovered that the water they were using was freezing cold. I pulled the emergency alarm, told them to get the hell out, and turned the water as warm as I could. When the head nurse came in to respond to the alarm, I told her what had happened. Once we had the patient warmed back up, dressed warmly, and in bed, she had me fill out an incident report. Both the aides involved had complaints by other patients against them and were fired. The fact that anyone can look at a person who is so in need of help and do something like that to them is completely repulsive to me.

You stopped the commission of a heinous crime with reasonable force. In order for the parents of this child to take you to court, there must be a cognizable cause of action. For this, there needs to be an injury. You imply that there was none. If there was a crime committed, they cannot “take you to court,” but they can file a report with the police.Since you were not (and are not) a clear and present danger to the child after rescuing the dog, you will not get arrested. You will likely not even get admonished. Admit nothing to the cops when you file an incident report. Simply say, “In order to rescue the victim (i.e., the dog) from the brutality being committed by the perpetrator, I had to defend myself. I simply put my arms up to stop his advance and to keep him from perpetrating the same violence against me as I witnessed him perpetrating against the victim (i.e., the dog again).”You do not have to do this at all; and, you don’t have to do it to “cover your a**.” You did absolutely, positively nothing wrong—as I stated at the beginning of my answer.Please continue to be fearless and agile and vigilant in the defense of the defenseless. Means this amount is enough for a party to get an edge over a rival.Earlier INC & later on BJP went there for bromance. Same was the result. Govt. formed accordingly.Things were same during Lok Sabha elections.Hence we can relate this with the ruling party's willingness to play soft.See, even the head of Gurmeet's security even slapped IG (imagine IPS officer being slapped) post-conviction, as dera men wanted Gurmeet to drop Rohtak in private vehicle of Dera.The fearless approach of Dera Management.Even in Tribune, Mulinja Narayanan, who headed the probe 2002–2009 of this in CBI, stated that politicians used to visit him in headquarters to drop the case & even his seniors forced.Hence vote bank politics lead our daring P.M to get in the back seat.Now if we see Punjab, here its Congress govt, in spite of 30 lacs followers here in this state, no casualty or any major incident reported here.
