Because most Americans would rather pay health insurance $1500 a month + huge amounts for every ER visit and things the insurance company decides not to cover, rather than pay an extra $250 a month from your paycheck and have universal healthcare and free college. Because they would prefer to pay $800 a month for child care PER CHILD instead of having a small portion of the taxes pay for people who need it. Most Americans are slaves to monthly bills.Most Americans live paycheck to paycheck because these “mandatory” expenses take up 90% of their income. But if you try to remove it, ease the burden, give them work protection and basic social protection they fight you to the death. The GOP will sell them the basic bullshit of freedom, socialism something or other and there we go.The other reason for America’s lack of savings is debt. This debt is facilitated by the need most people have to buy things. This would not be a problem if the above “mandatory” expenses did not exist. Just imagine if you had another $1500 -$2000 a month in disposable income that you could save or spend, which was NOT pumped into your health insurance and spending. Most other people in other countries have debt too, but no other country spends so much on “mandatory” expenses, the LARGEST by far in the US being medical.There is simply no good reason for a country to have 100% private healthcare with health insurance also private. Then have this system generate an 2 trillion in revenue a year with a huge profit margin, and all this be supported by the consumers. No good reason, none. Zero benefit to the average consumer and providing an unbearable financial burden for 90% of american households.But The thing is AMERICA WANTS IT….Most Americans have been hanging by their neck for so long that now they fight you to death when you try to take the noose off. The hangman has been convincing them for decades that its great to be with a noose around your heck, its the ONLY way to be, its the only way to protect freedom and democracy and the American way. So if you oppose the noose, they will label you a communist and hater of the American way, freedom and democracy…..im repeating myself yes?I own two businesses, well its one but two divisions. One in Dallas, TX and one in Germany, just shy of 600 employees. In the US, even my $13 an hour line employees will fight you to the death if you even mention national health insurance and yet he is at my mercy to do with as I please. I could remove their benefits tomorrow, nothing can stop me. In Germany I cannot do that.I gave up trying to fight the ignorant republican voters, trying to convince them that what they are voting for with the GOPs is actually rich people and corporations like me having full ownership of your income and your life, sucking up such a huge portion of your incomes so you have no savings to speak of or discretionary income. Yes, you 80% of America - your freedom doesnt exist. It is neutralized by income reducing “obligations” which the GOP does not want to change. Most people have no freedom, they cant afford it.You are only free on paper. 80% of the GOP voters are actually slaves. Dont try to free them, they dont want it.I have not fired a single employee during the pandemic. I have paid them out of company money and bank credit lines even though business took a 40% hit. Im a Democrat and im a progressive business owner. My employees are fortunate that I am.Thats basically it.
