It is now 2018 and MS windows 10 is still bad.I have bought windows pro in 2016. Since 2015, I face several issues on my computer. Some Microsoft applications freezes, user permissions are missing. The Microsoft never fixed the issues. Here is my case:10016 events in event viewers:It looks like there are missing user permissions for DCOM components. I have added twice those permissions.The issue is known on Microsoft forums but Microsoft never fixed the user permissions since 3 years now.DCOM errorsEvent id 10016 runtimebrokerSo, i try to add myself permissions since Microsoft does not bring any support. This shows that users aren’t maintained in MS windows 10. You can also see that the checkbox graphics bugged. It is not an issue with the screen capture. It is really like that on my computer. There are dark lines on the right of the check boxesThere are also many issues related to the registry because there is no program that maintain the the records of registry. That’s why there are so many registry repair software for MS windows.If you don’t want to have to deal with those types of issue buy a mac or install linux. Now, MacOS and any linux are more reliable that MS windows.No user permissions maintenance in windows 10Windows 10 has no user permission integrity check-up. The user permissions may be wrong and it makes the Indexing, search function of MS windows not working anymore or partially working. I am sure there are other issues related to bad user permissions in Windows 10. So, there is no windows program that check system files to see whether or not there is the right user permissions for it.Since user permissions are not good on some folders and files: Search and indexing often fail on MS windows 10:search dosn't work on windows 10Errors related to Microsoft preinstalled ApplicationsAt some point I wanted to reinstall the Microsoft Applications using powershell. Here is what I received. It is like on linux, you wanted to reinstall the packages and you get only errors. This would never happen with Linux but with Microsoft it happens. In the following screenshot it basically says that it does not find appXmanifest.xmlOn top of that, I am a subscriber to office 365. My connection to office 365 does not work any more on my MS windows. It is means I can’t synchronize my business account with my local MS word or MS onenote. So i switched to Dropbox and I am happy about it.Control panel or settings panel?It really does not make sense to setup settings in two different places in windows 10. It really does not make sense to have 2 panels for the same purpose. We don’t know if they have overlapping features or not.Frozen & broken MS windows menuI had a frozen windows menu several times. This is also a crazy thing. You click on the left icon of windows and nothing happens. If it would have happened on a linux or a macOS all the Pro PC media would have said “Apple sells garbage” or “Linux isn’t good for professional people, it is only for geeks”.I don’t know if it is indexing or if it is another component of windows but on my MS windows when I click on some items of the windows menu nothing happens.Registry is still herePeople still use ccleaner and all those softwares, it shows there is something wrong about registry. I guess that when people uninstall products it leaves residual records. in the registry.Broken recovery toolsOn top of that, my WinRE didn’t work anymore. I wonder if my MS windows is perhaps confused between the Family version I had and the Pro version. Perhaps it didn’t migrate very well. Below here is a screenshot of a failed attempt of backing up system image that I just took right now. As I said before, I bought windows 10 pro. I have installed MS windows 10 on a formatted drive using a USB drive created thanks to media creation tool from Microsoft. I then bought MS windows 10 pro. Then, I have installed office365, I have linked my office365business account, Dropbox. That’s it.ConclusionHopefully I have a backup plan… A Macbook, a Fedora and ubuntu. Otherwise I would have been in deep trouble without those real OS. We can’t rely on MS windows anymore because it is not a serious OS. They didn’t want to get rid of old 32 bits compatibility and focus on 64 bits. They didn’t want to make it simple. They didn’t want to focus to the core features of an OS. If I was Mr Microsoft I would allow users to run 32 bits applications via a Virtual machine only.10 years ago, I used to spend many hours fixing Linux and few hours fixing windows. Today I spend many hours fixing Windows and no time to fix Linux.
