DelhiIt was 0100 am at night. The first flight of the day is at 02:20 am to Pune.Check-in has begun for the flight. The check-in for this flight used to be easy-breezy thing.So, here comes a girl at the counter. Well-educated and sweet. She gets her check-in done and then she keeps standing. She takes a long pause and says “ I want your job. Can you help me where do I go for the interview for this job”I smiled at her. It was rather a sarcastic smile.I asked her “ You are a graduate. Right?”She blushed and told “ I am 28. An MBA. Currently working with HDFC”“As” I mumured.“Assistant Manager”But… I don't like working there. Sales target everything. I cannot bear more. I am done with the pressure.”As I read her boarding pass, So Ms. XYZ, what time do you go back home after work. What are your working hours.I reach home back by 0630 or.. Ummm 0645 pm. Yes this time. 10 to 6 pm.‘I saw my watch. It's 0120 am at night and I am working. You will have to work for 10 hours . You will be in rotational shift. Are you okay with this? “How much do you earn?Rs, XXXXXXGood, I earn Rs XXXXXX. Ready for the pay cut?You got off on Gandhi Jayanti?Yes, of course it was National Holiday.I didn't. Forget about Saturday, Sunday, Holi, Diwali and all. Can you?“But this uniform looks damn amazing” She said.“This looks amazing. But are you ready for the filthy comments you get to hear from some amazing people.” I said.If you can do all this, Welcome to this world!“ Jagriti, ummmmmm I think I am better off here. I should be happy . It's a lot better wherever I am” She said as the pulled the handle of her hand bag.Moral: The grass is always greener on the other side. We are amazed by other's job and others are amazed by our jobs. And this loop goes on…..

Yes. This has happened three times so far.The first time was when I was invited by BITS-Pilani to address their students.This was on on Aug 10, 2018. I addressed them over a video link. The students were assembled in a hall at BITS Pilani and there were about 200 of them. I was seated comfortably in my home in Devanahalli. I could see them sitting in the hall and felt they were assembled right before me. It was my first such experience.About a year later I attended live conference on how Social media can be used constructively in the field of education and I addressed an elite gathering of experts on education, consisting of school and college principals, senior teachers, head masters, and Directors of education from all over the country on April 13, 2019 at the ball room at Hotel Taj Land's end, Bandra Mumbai. Here is the video. It lasts for about 20 minutes.They had even displayed a cutout of me in that hall. Here is me, posing by the side of that cutout.More recently, I was invited to address the students of the Institute of Management Studies (IMS Ghaziabad).
