PDF Editor FAQ

If I write good poetry, do I really need to learn marketing strategies, win poetry contests & post online before I can get published?

Hmm... Good poetry? Hmm. This phrase made me think. Many poets can write good poetry. Not all poets can write excellent poetry. In my case, I'm trying to reduce the fancy phrases, so I can write poetry that children can understand better. So the fancy writing stuff that some call excellent poetry may sabotage the way your poetry is perceived and received. We know about self-publishing. We know about grammarly-dot-com and we know about publisher's submission requirements and guidelines... if we're lucky. If not, then who knows how many poems will get rejected?:http://grammarly.com:Consider how poems are submitted. Many are on A4 paper and many are sent as plain text, in emails to the publishers. Either way, that text is king. Fancy page borders, italic text, calligraphy fonts and so on... these are not the poetry. The poetry is what motivates the publisher, or the submissions editor. So we can make a start by learning all we can prior to submitting anything at all.:In my case, I submitted poetry based on whatever UK poetry anthology theme was being promoted. I had to adapt to whatever style was required, or whatever theme could direct me towards a satisfying piece of poetry. I prefer 8 syllables then 6 then 8 then 6 to a standard common metre hymn verse style. But I can combine the short lines, so a 40-lined poems fits to 20 and fits in with what the publisher's guidelines tell me to do.:I'm also considering the way people recite a poem the first time they read it. These points I'm raising are like marketing strategies. Text, separated into phrases and easily recited are much more likely to be accepted than convoluted text that's not easily recited. Tongue-twisters and alliterations are writer's devices, yet these can sabotage the text. Odd words can stop us in our tracks. The only way to streamline the text is to keep studying the initial text and editing it again and again. That's why I'm editing text, so it can be read out on live television channels. If that happens, then I update the poem I uploaded to the poemhunter-dot-com website. It's where 2,600 of the poems are made available as a free e-book PDF file visitors can download. I know that publishers are involved in the serious editing side of poetry submissions, so it's the usual way to get feedback, when a poem is considered as 'almost there'...:The thing is, will getting published in a national poetry anthology really be a success story in itself? Surely it's just a kick-start to being a more prolific poet, hoping to get more published in future anthologies? That's when poetry publishers get interested enough to offer a publishing deal, if you pay for publishing expenses. Maybe you order a few dozen poem collection books and even sell these to others and get back your investment. If not, you could end up giving these away and who knows if that's a blessing or not?:That's why I publish poems through the Internet and through TV. Visitors can visit my poemhunter A to Z poem titles order web page. Same again for the domain leading to the Gospel poems:http://denismartindale.co.ukhttp://revelationtv.co.uk:Even so, the poemhunter website lets me add a picture below my new poem, so I use the free photo images from here::http://unsplash.comhttp://pixabay.com:Would you consider registering on the www.poemhunter website?:

Who is King Arthur?

WikipediaKing ArthurLanguageDownload PDFWatchEditFor other uses, see King Arthur (disambiguation) and Arthur Pendragon (disambiguation).Tapestry showing Arthur as one of the Nine Worthies, wearing a coat of armsoften attributed to him[1](c. 1385)King Arthur, also called Arthur Pendragon, was a legendary Britishleader who, according to medieval histories and romances, led the defence of Britain against Saxon invaders in the late 5th and early 6th centuries. The details of Arthur's story are mainly composed of folklore and literary invention, and modern historians generally agree that he is unhistorical.[2][3]The sparse historical background of Arthur is gleaned from various sources, including the Annales Cambriae, the Historia Brittonum, and the writings of Gildas. Arthur's name also occurs in early poetic sources such as Y Gododdin.[4]Arthur is a central figure in the legends making up the Matter of Britain. The legendary Arthur developed as a figure of international interest largely through the popularity of Geoffrey of Monmouth's fanciful and imaginative 12th-century Historia Regum Britanniae(History of the Kings of Britain).[5]In some Welsh and Breton tales and poems that date from before this work, Arthur appears either as a great warrior defending Britain from human and supernatural enemies or as a magical figure of folklore, sometimes associated with the Welsh otherworld Annwn.[6]How much of Geoffrey's Historia(completed in 1138) was adapted from such earlier sources, rather than invented by Geoffrey himself, is unknown.Although the themes, events and characters of the Arthurian legend varied widely from text to text, and there is no one canonical version, Geoffrey's version of events often served as the starting point for later stories. Geoffrey depicted Arthur as a king of Britain who defeated the Saxons and established a vast empire. Many elements and incidents that are now an integral part of the Arthurian story appear in Geoffrey's Historia, including Arthur's father Uther Pendragon, the magician Merlin, Arthur's wife Guinevere, the sword Excalibur, Arthur's conception at Tintagel, his final battle against Mordred at Camlann, and final rest in Avalon. The 12th-century French writer Chrétien de Troyes, who added Lancelot and the Holy Grail to the story, began the genre of Arthurian romance that became a significant strand of medieval literature. In these French stories, the narrative focus often shifts from King Arthur himself to other characters, such as various Knights of the Round Table.Arthurian literature thrived during the Middle Ages but waned in the centuries that followed until it experienced a major resurgence in the 19th century. In the 21st century, the legend lives on, not only in literature but also in adaptations for theatre, film, television, comics and other media.HistoricityNameMedieval literary traditionsDecline, revival, and the modern legendSee alsoReferencesExternal links

Comments from Our Customers

Well, I tell you the truth. I am not an easier learning with software and subscriptions. I have a few such as fileinvite taxdome... but this CocoDoc with the customer service I have received from Dee just not, along with the two other I spoke with has been outstanding. Dee took the time I needed and is very well knowledgeable about how to navigate this system. I am super glad i was helped by Dee... Even though I am a slow learner, and I might need to chat in the future, I appreciate the time and walk through I was provided, I have not hard this customer service before.
