Jesus Christ before He became human.There are some who think that calling Jesus an “archangel” is lowering Him from His exalted position as God. But in fact, the Bible calls Jesus “the angel of the Lord” many times.Reading in Exodus 3:2–6 we notice that the angel (messenger) of verse 2 is really none other than God (Jesus) Himself. This is confirmed in the New Testament as well, in Acts 7:30, 31.When God appeared to Abraham after he tried to offer Isaac as sacrifice in Genesis 22, notice what verse 15–18 says:“The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time and said, ‘I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, and through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.’”Did you see that?The “angel of the Lord” swore by Himself that He would make Abraham the father of many nations.And this is what Paul says about this very text in Hebrews 6:13, “When God made his promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself”Therefore, “the angel of the Lord” is God. But this “angel of the Lord” is no ordinary angel. It is none other than Jesus Christ Himself.The name Michael means “Who is like God?”. Hebrews 1:3 tells us “The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”“The Son” is like God, so the name Michael fits Jesus perfectly.Jude 1:9 Yet *Michael the archangel*, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee.Zec 3:1 And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the *angel of the LORD*, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.Zec 3:2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?In both Jude 9 and Zech 3:1-2 it is Jesus, the *angel of the LORD* who is also *Michael the archangel*, contending with Satan for both Moses and Joshua.Finally:Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.We know from the Book of John that Jesus is the one who will preside over two resurrections: one for the righteous and the other for the wicked.John 5:26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;John 5:27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Some believe that Lucifer, aka Satan, aka the devil was the most powerful of God's The Father’s creations. I personally don't think so - he was powerful indeed but not the most powerful. Michael was / is an archangel - which is an angel of high rank - meaning he too had power and authority.In the battle between Lucifer and his angels against Michael and his angels - Michael had two thirds of the innumerable host of angels with him than Lucifer who only had 1/3. Michael fought for righteousness and obedience. Either or both of these reasons is why Michael won the war and Satan and the angels who followed him were cast down to earth facing the judgement of the Almighty.They are so advanced that they can create the all that is seen before us - some things visible may have been a result of the war -think of what their weapons are like.
