Hey there! I have done my B.Tech from DDIT(2012–2016). Right now I am working in HITACHI group’s Company. And our company has collaboration with Nirma University. And as per this collaboration we have to attend some lectures and lab sessions on weekends for brushing up our fundamentals.So as you said your rank is 724 and if you belong to open category then it is really difficult getting admission in either of 3 colleges. There is very thin probability to get admission in DAIICT. So now you are left with DDIT and NIRMA. Now I tell difference between both Universities.Campus:Both of the University has beautiful campus with lots of trees. But Nirma’s campus is too large compare to DDIT. There are 3 canteens, 2 hostels, indoor and outdoor spots facilities and gym in Nirma. Compare to these DDIT has only one canteen and less equipped sports facilities. Nirma canteens serve hygienic and DDIT canteen is not so hygienic. Hostel facailities are almost same, only thing hostel is quite big in Nirma. Washrooms of Nirma are more clean compare to DDIT. There are water purifies and coolers on each floor in Nirma wheres in DDIT there are only 4–5 drinking water junctions and half of the time they are not working.Library and Internet:In Nirma each faculty has its own library and all libraries are equipped with computers, lots of books and air-conditioners. Wheres is DDU there is only three library among all the the faculties. Only main library has computers and reading area.Whole campus of Nirma is connected with high speed WiFi and in DDIT there is only LAN networks and many of the time it is not working.Examinations:DDU has 3 internal scheme, and sometimes it is the main reason of hectic schedule. But I think it is really good thing. It helped me evolving my self. And these thing also makes it students mind more exam oriented, which is con of the system. Both Universities exam papers are quite tricky compare to GTU which is a good thing.Teaching staff:There will be some technically good professors and some won’t be not so good, even in IITs. So the ratio of technically good to bad professor in Nirma is 10:7 and in DDIT 10:5. Every year Nirma conducts 15 days workshop to improve their teaching staffs abilities and skill. There is no such provision in DDIT. Even a particular professor receives poor feedback, there won’t be taken actions against that faculty.Placement and Industrial collaborations:It is true that placement of DDIT computer brach is around 100 for past 3 years. But half of them were placed in Infosys, TCS and Tech mahindra. These companies are famous for their mass recruitment only. Only 2–3 companies have offered decent packages of 5+ lacs/annum, and approx 8–10 students were selected in these category. DDIT has collaborations with 4 companies: Reliance Chemicals, Infosys, Bosch Rexorth and KHS GmBH.Now about Nirma. I don’t know the exact number of placement but it is as good as DDIT, may be better. Many reputed companies comes for recruitment such as IBM, NVIDIA etc. Nirma has many collaboration with various companies compare to DDIT. Nirma give first priorities to such companies and avg package of Nirma is quite high compare to DDIT. If you are not selected in any such companies then and than they ask Infosys and TCS for campus selection.And the most observing fact: Infosys have offered package of 3.28 lacs/annum for DDIT students and for Nirma they have offered package of 4–6 lacs/annum as per capability.Fees:Money is one the most important thing in life. Well Nirma is totally self finance college and its fees is around 1.3 lacs/annum. Wheres in DDIT half of the seats are GIA and half are self finance. Fees for GIA admission is around 8,000 per year only wheres in SFI fees is 1.5 lacs/annum. And I don’t think that it provides facilities as per fees.Now, the decision is yours.Best of luck! Regards!

Highest package grabbed in NIT Silchar was from CSE Department : 14.2 LPA -DirectI.2. Highest package offered : 35 LPA - Works Applications (In Japan, Shanghai & Singapore) and 24 LPA - Headout (In India). (None made it though)3. 4 Pre-placement Offers from Goldman Sachs after the internship (in Summer 2015) and 2 on-campus hiring - 14 LPA. (total hired = 6)4. 2 Pre-placement Offers after the internship (in Summer 2015) from Equifax Inc(Bangalore)5. This year the first week of the 4th year session (7th semester) observed around 20 on-campus placements with offers above 6 LPA.6. Prestigious companies like Samsung R & D, Wells Fargo recruited around a dozen peeps with the offer above 8 LPA.7. The Weather: Pristine green and calm climate, No-Pollution environment, Beauty of Lakes, Heights of Paani Tanki and Amazing tea garden.2. The oh so! frank teachers (no sarcasm): Even if you're not the best student, you are doing something different, you will be supported by teachers. Make a mistake, they will "teach" you. And even if you are not doing anything, reach-out to them, ask for help. NIT Silchar's teachers and even the Director are very helpful and supportive, just reach out with perfect timing.3. Senior-Junior culture: Many would say ragging creates better Senior-Junior culture, I will argue by witnessing the current situation in campus. Ragging always had an ego involved.4. Freedom: Freedom to do anything apart from your academics, as you get so much time (literally, you just need 15 days x2 = 1 month per semester for your academics - pointed out by teachers too, to score decent grades) you can explore your hobbies or create one, develop other skills, go for a tour to nearby awesome places like Mizroam, Shillong, Sikkim, Tawang, etc, you can also involve yourself in social causes supported by college, like Gyansagar and Children of Hope.5. Best of all, Internet : The blazing fast and unlimited internet access. You can use this to learn many things, to watch movies, to listen to all those trippy songs when you are high, to share class notes, assignment, frequent updates via Facebook (yes, we don't just use local network, we do all these things over the Internet too B| ). Many colleges have good internet but they don't give unlimited access without time-bar.6. Parties: Almost everyday is a party day, especially when you're in your last semester. And with party I don't mean food. 8/10 rooms of every hostel is lightened up with a party mood and a rolled up greenery, with speakers at full volume.7. Placement: We don't have a placement week but we have a placements going through-out the year, starting with July till June. Notable companies like Samsung, Goldman Sachs, L&T, Flour Daniell, Snapdeal, Gammon, BPCL, HPCL, Reliance JIO, Sapient, PwC, Unisys, Philips, SAP, Directi, Wells Fargo, Polaris, etc recruits from NIT Silchar.8. Social Entrepreneurship: All the NITs were developed by keeping in mind to develop nearby locations, and NIT Silchar is doing this with amazing pace. From teaching to village students to providing power in villages, NIT Silchar has its own1MW Solar Power Plant, part of which is used to lighten up houses in nearby villages. NIT Silchar also provided PollFriend android application and it's web-portal which was used in Assam Assembly election 2016 which was held in April'16, from development to training the officers to use the app all was done free of cost with the support District Adminstration of Cachar, and NIT Silchar is focusing on providing more such kind of support to develop its surrounding too.9. Startup Culture: NIT Silchar has recently established a startup-center under Government of India to promote Entrepreneurship among the students and in nearby locations with the motive of being a Job Creator, not Seeker! 10 startups will be provided office space in the campus (in June'16) and facilities so as to make an impact on society.10. Festivals and Celebrations: NIT Silchar is very wealthy and healthy in culture of celebrating annual festivals such as, Technical festival - Tecnoesis, Cultural festival -Incandescence and Posua, Management festival - Paarbon, Innovation festival -National Innovation Summit (NIS). Apart from these many other special days are also celebrated like, Hindi Diwas, Matrabhasa Diwas, etc. Diwali (Deepawali and Kali Puja), Holi, Bihu, Saraswati Puja are Indian festivals which are celebrated with extreme joy and lots of fun.Worst Things:1.Ongoing Constructions: Because of ongoing constructions of mega structures of NITS, roads are polluted with dusts, but I am sure when the constructions will get over it will be clean as it used to be.2. In-time for girls: :P Not much to say about this.3. Food: Be it mess or canteens or restaurants in city you will die for good food. People will name a few restaurants for their amazing food, but they will not tell you about their food serving time. (I think restaurant owners go for shopping after getting order, that's why it takes so much time for them to serve (approx. 1hrs in almost every restaurant) ).
