PDF Editor FAQ
"In 4 months, the U.S. transformed into an obedient socialist country. Government dictated what events are acceptable to attend. Violent protests that instill fear are OK but church services, family funerals are dangerous". What's your take?
Just about the last thing the US has transformed into is “an obedient socialist country.” First of all, “socialism” is used as a scare word in American politics — it has come to mean anything that the speaker, usually right-wing, doesn’t like or is fearful of. Obamacare? Socialist! (actually, a government program requiring people to buy private insurance is closer to fascism than socialism.) Free education? Socialism! Equal rights for black people? Socialism!Socialism is an economic system where the means of production is owned or managed to benefit the people who produce and use the product, not the shareholders. That’s all socialism is. Venezuela calls itself socialist, but a better example would be your credit union or electrical co-op.Obedient? Hardly. Every rule, suggestion, guideline, or policy put in place by governments and health departments to try and manage the pandemic is met with open defiance. We are about the least obedient people on earth. Let’s be honest, that’s why Trump lost the election. It was a great year for Republicans everywhere else except at the top of the ballot. Americans hate Trump, because they see him as an authoritarian, undemocratic, anti-American, wannabe dictator. So millions of Americans voted for Biden — while electing Republicans up and down the ballot. Not because they love Biden so much (get real!) but because they hate Trump and his contempt for American values and American liberty. But what about those protests? It’s OK to riot but not OK to go to church? Well, no . . . but really, what did you want the police to do? Stop the protests? How? I repeat, how? Please give me a good answer that doesn’t involve massive deployment of military force, which is something that our “obedient” society absolutely wouldn’t tolerate. In Minnesota and most other jurisdictions, most of the people who were arrested for things like “unlawful assembly” or “disobeying a police officer” have already had the charges dropped. Why? Because the cops and prosecutors are all commie pinkos who want to see America become a socialist paradise? Hardly! It’s because they knew they’d never, ever, get a conviction. If you go into a court of law and testify that you were exercising your First Amendment rights to freedom of speech, there isn’t one jury in ten that would vote to convict you — provided the judge hasn’t already thrown the case out of court. Regardless of what the law says, protesting is still legal in America. And if people who wanted to go to church, kept going despite police harassment, you’d find out that going to church in America was legal again.Let me explain that point. I had a law teacher once tell me that it doesn’t matter what you have done. You aren’t guilty of breaking the law until a jury decides that you are. I used to live in Colorado. As everyone knows, Colorado was the first state to legalize marijuana. By that, they meant that it was the first state to take laws against marijuana possession off the books. But it was already legal in Colorado. It doesn’t matter what the law books said, for years before the vote to legalize, you could literally light up a joint in front of a cop and he wouldn’t do anything. Might give you a verbal warning. Or if you pissed him off — blew smoke in his face or something — he could write you a ticket and you’d have to pay $100 fine. Why? Because there wasn’t a jury in Colorado that would convict someone for smoking weed, and every cop and prosecutor in the state knew it, so why bother? After a few high-profile jury verdicts, marijuana became defacto legal in Colorado, years before the voters got around to changing the law books. I’m told the same is true in California and several other states. So that’s the reason why marijuana is legal in Colorado, and why exercising your first-amendment rights to protest is legal, and if push came to shove and people who didn’t wear face masks or socially distance properly started going up before juries, you’d find out that was legal too, because I don’t think you’d find a jury that would convict. All the police can do is bully you.I lost my job because of the pandemic. Not because of government-imposed restrictions. People stopped shopping. We literally had three consecutive days of $0 sales in my store and the mall decided to shut down. It wasn’t until two weeks later that the governor issued any kind of a shutdown order. It wasn’t the governor. It was the people. And regardless of what the governor does, when restaurants decide to reopen, when people decide it’s safe to hang out with friends again, then the shutdowns will stop. Not when the governor decides. He’s irrelevant. The health department can shut down individual businesses, it’s true, but when most of the businesses in a town announce they’re staying open regardless of what the government says, (as appears to be happening in several places, most notably Loveland, Colorado) well, the state literally cannot close all of them. Not if it expects to win a jury trial. Maybe you think those businesses and the people who patronize them are being foolish or are unnecessarily endangering others. Maybe they are, and you certainly have the right to think that. But I’m just stating the facts. This pandemic will end when the people decide it’s over.“An obedient socialist country.” Don’t make me laugh!
Due to some events, I emotionally started to go downhill which caused me to be depressed. Instead of trying to help, my family gaslights me for "being different" or "not obedient" when I just want to be happy. What should I do?
In many families, if you don’t follow the status quo and do what everyone else does to fit in and make your parents look good, you will be ostracized.Obedience has nothing to do with feeling depressed. I understand the “get with the family program and make us look good” kind of thing. I experienced that also in my family with my narcissistic mother. Everything we did and said was about making the family look good.In order to be happy we have to not give a crap what other people think. What others think of you should not be your first concern about your mental well-being and physical health needs to be your top priority. Why? Suicide, my dear lady is a terrible problem. We want you to live and be happy. We want you to feel better, not worse.Stop worrying about others and for once in your life focus on yourself. You are important. You have to make yourself rather than attempting to please everyone else a priority. Part of the reason you feel depressed is that everyone’s happiness has been your priority instead of yours.I don’t know what your living situation is, as you didn’t mention it. Distance yourself as much as possible from the family that isn’t supportive and surround yourself with those that are.Know that you matter more than any family “image.” You are important and you are here for a reason. You need to get yourself to a coach or therapist to help you. Take care of yourself. I have a depression package for 37.00 on my website, that clears your energy. There are plenty of programs out there you can do, but for goodness sake do more than just ask questions. Make an appointment and get help!I have written pages and pages of what to do to help yourself. Here are a couple of YouTube videos that will help you get started. Self-love is the answer. Depression is a symptom of a bigger issue NOT the problem. You need nurturing. You are the one that needs love. You need to commit to yourself! Commit to loving yourself enough to overcome these issues.Make yourself important enough to take care of. Love yourself. Read my other work and watch the videos I provided the links here for.Contact me and get a session or buy the package!
What is meant by civil disobedience movement?
Civil disobedience is the active, professed refusal to obey certain laws, demands, and commands of a government, or of an occupying international power. Civil disobedience is a symbolic or ritualistic violation of the law, rather than a rejection of the system as a whole.A variety of criticisms has been directed against the philosophy and practice of civil disobedience. The radical critique of the philosophy of civil disobedience condemns its acceptance of the existing political structure; conservative schools of thought, on the other hand, see the logical extension of civil disobedience as anarchy and the right of the individual to break any law he chooses, at any time. The philosophical roots of civil disobedience lie deep in Western thought: Cicero, Saint Thomas Aquinas, John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, and Henry David Thoreau all sought to justify conduct by virtue of its harmony with some antecedent superhuman moral law.The principle of civil disobedience has achieved some standing in international law through the war crime trials at Nürnberg after World War II, which affirmed the principle that an individual may, under certain circumstances, be held accountable for failure to break the laws of his country.
