PDF Editor FAQ

How common is it for therapists to forget details about their clients between sessions?

That depends on the size of the caseload and how well the therapist knows the client.I'm more likely to forget details of a NEW client because I'm getting ALL of a stranger's info and history in one big blast while filling out an extensive intake form.Once I've worked with that client and getting to know them, I'm less likely to forget details.

Has anyone ever caused a client to bruise from a sports massage? This happened to me for the first time with a new client.

Has anyone ever caused a client to bruise from a sports massage? This happened to me for the first time with a new client.Yes, this happened to me, I became aware of it on her next visit and I felt terrible because I had never caused anyone to bruise before.I talked with the client about it and she told me that she has a tendency to bruise easily and she didn’t even give it much thought, in fact she rebooked with me. I cant say that made me feel any better about it but it certainly put things into perspective and changed how I approached future treatments with her. Some people bruise easily for many reasons, such as anemia, vitamin deficiency, daily aspirin regimen, or blood thinners. They don’t always tell us these things on their initial medical intake forms, some people don’t think that it is important to put that in the medical history. Now that you are aware of it make sure that is in your client notes, and use a different approach for treatment with that client.

What is it like to visit psychologist/psychiatrist for the first time? What to expect?

The first visit is easy. Most mental health professionals have a standardized intake routine for new clients where they ask you a lot of questions. What concern brought you in? Medical history, family history. Lots of questions to assess you for mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse, and anything else that may be relevant to your presenting concern. If you are seeing a psychiatrist and your main concern is depression or anxiety, you will most likely leave with a prescription for an SSRI or SNRI. On your second visit, you will talk about how the medication is working for you and what adjustments to make (if any). Follow-up visits for medication management in psychiatry are typically much shorter than the initial intake appointment. (The initial appointment might be 45–90 minutes, later appointments are usually 15–30 minutes.) If your concern is more complex, the psychiatrist may order a bunch of testing (e.g. blood work) or request a copy of your other medical files before deciding how to move forward. If you are seeing a therapist, your first appointment is mostly about getting to know each other and deciding if you want to move forward with counseling or therapy. Feel free to ask lots of questions and decide if this is someone you can picture yourself working with. (Your therapist will be doing the same - no therapist is qualified to work with all clients and will refer some potential clients elsewhere.) In my experience, the second visit with a therapist is the hardest. You no longer have the structure of an intake interview and are expected to discuss private and delicate matters with someone who still feels like a complete stranger. Some forms of therapy are highly structured and feel like you are just doing worksheets. I personally don’t like those, but it seems to work for some.

People Want Us

I have been really happy with CocoDoc PDFelement. Initially I had some trouble with the registration, which seemed a bit hard to get through but after that no problems and it was worth the effort. I got the perpetual license and have used PDFelement for several months months now. It has been invaluable for two main tasks. The first use has been for updating or adding information that is incorrect or missing in PDF documents, mainly manuals and maintenance guides. I have even translated a French manual to English using Google translate and updated the text in the manual so I can read it. Google translate wasn't perfect (a lot of technical jargon) but PDFelement did fantastic. I was able to keep all the text associated with the accompanying diagrams and pictures. There were also some manuals in multiple languages and PDFelement's page edit feature allowed me to delete all except the English sections so I could store and print only what I needed. The second main task I use PDFelement for is completing PDF forms that are not editable. It saves a lot of time to be able to to do that and email the results over printing, filling out by hand, and scanning. I travel and don't always have a printer and scanner handy, plus the results look much more professional. I also like how the license agreement lets me install it on both my home computer and my personal laptop. Thanks CocoDoc! Sincerely, One satisfied customer.
