Kindergarten Progress Report: Fill & Download for Free

We weren’t married, but we had been together for 13 years.I had gotten temporary custody of my neice from CPS. The little girl had many issues she was trying to overcome. ADHD, severe temper tantrums, was at entry level kindergarten school wise, even though she had repeated kindergarten and was in first grade. She could barely read a learners Dr. Seuss book. When she found out my daughter, who was only 6 months older, but in second grade, could read, she put her mind to it that she wanted to do so also. So, my daughter and I worked with her.I was fighting with the school to get her an IEP, so they could help her with speech and learning issues. Her teacher was giving me progress reports and we talked to each other on a weekly basis, good or bad. Within a couple months, she had progressed to entry level 1st grade, academic wise.This whole time, I’m still dealing with temper tantrums at home (later found out it was due to her medications). The ex had NO patience at all. Would scream and yell at her, which made it way worse. I usually had to tell him to shut up and let her scream it out. She’d stop eventually. When she stopped, her and I would talk out what the issue was, and try to think up different ways to handle it.The day that made me truly realize I couldn’t take being with him, was the day he decided I had to send her to live with my other sister because she had a hysterical temper tantrum about socks. She was extremely tired from being at her grandmother’s all day, and thought my daughter had a pair of her socks on. She proceeded to scream and cry over it. I was in the bedroom trying to settle her down, and he comes in screaming at her and me.I should’ve booted him out or left him then. Not exactly sure why I didn’t.The next day, after talking to my neice, I called CPS and told them I was taking her to stay with my other sister (who had temporary custody of my neice’s siblings). She started to do much better, since she got to be back with some of her family, and after the doctors changed her meds.To this day though, I feel horrible for putting her and my daughter in that situation with him.

Female Underdog story from a lower middle class family.Educational Background of Parents:Dad: NilMom: 7th grade (Truth its 6th but she never accepts it). So they came to a conclusion that education was very important to succeed in life.Their sweet son was always good at studies, they never had to worry about him. Then enters the main character, antonymous to her elder brother. She hated school, books anything related to education literally.She started out good in kindergarten. Who screws up that anyway.2nd grade- Since her mother tongue was Tamil, she had a difficult time learning Kannada (Language in India). She ended up scoring 0.5 marks out of 25 marks in a internal test. The kind teacher round the marks to 1. Seeing their daughter’s prowess in studies, mom started belting her.She was very consistent in keeping the number of subjects she failed during tests. The subjects might differ but the number was always a minimumof 2 for next 8 years.Every time they gave the progress report, (Schools have this weird habit of giving progress report on Saturday, you know cause your parents can belt/hit/trash you for 2 whole days non stop) she begged her brother to show the report card on sunday eve to parents. But the asshole brother was very very obedient to his parents. Every Parent-Teacher meeting was hell for her. They always had things to say about her. And then the school threatened to remove her from school (Ironic that the school is supposed to help kids improve , rather than kick out the low performing students since their pass percentage would go down in SSLC). By this time she had loads of war scars on her body, Newton’s third Law according to Indian parents - The harder you hit the kids, the better they study ;)Fast forwward- 10th grade- Expected result: FAIL. Actual: 52% (Yes, I was a tester :P)12th grade- 76% and She was always compared to her brotherBy this time she started liking what she studied and did her best.Joined B.Com while she was the butt of all studies jokes and talk.Parents told- “If you dont study, we’ll get you married”Uncle told her daughters- ” See if you don’t study properly, you’ll be like Pooja (Sherlocks, that’s her name) akka, no one will respect you and you’ll join some local college”.Brother couldnt watch his parents fighting everyday, he used to crash at friend’s place and later started working in a different city, but she didnt have any other option.2018- Class Representative, Graduated, Placed in a MNC and started working even before she finished her exams.When her brother told her that he doesnt like the job he was doing, she told him that, ”Just quit the job and come back home, I’ll take care of family now. You can rest for a while.” While her brother is Figuring out what to do next, she is working night shift and supporting the family too.There was never a person who encouraged her or told her that she’s talented. Her biggest critics were her parents, brother and the rest of the family. She didnt succumb to despair. Even she doesn’t know what kept her going. It’s boring. You go in expecting to see knock-down, drag-out fights with burly psych techs; bodies hanging from shower nozzles; lobotomy victims lumbering down the hallway. In reality, you’ll spend all day staring at a broken exercise bike & bad football games on TV.You get good-behavior points like you’re back in kindergarten. Put enough smiley-face stickers up on the board & they’ll let you pick the DVD for movie hour — as long as it has Adam Sandler in it.They try to make you quit smoking. You can usually get patches or gum or something, but they won’t let you outside for a cigarette, & they’ll urge you to use this wonderful opportunity to stop making such bad lifestyle choices.No caffeine, either. Never mind your splitting withdrawal headaches, just as long as the staff can give insurance companies some decaf-friendly progress reports.Every jigsaw puzzle in the place is missing at least one piece. If you’re not crazy when you check in, you sure as hell will be by the time you leave.
