What businesses are completely legal but shouldn't be because they are total scams?

Homeopathic “medicine” sellersPsychicsDomain search engine registration scams (fake emails or physical mail that shows up saying “your domain search registration is about to expire” and look exactly like warnings that your domain name is about to expire)Fake homeowner warranty/car warranty scams loaded with so many limitations and exclusions they’ll basically never pay outMultilevel marketing systems like Amway

What do people think about Amway?

Amway, QuickStar or any multi level marketing is total scam according to me. I do understand that there is a lot of money being made by the middlemen(Retail shops like Walmart, amazon.com etc…) and also a lot of getting wasted in marketing and advertisement.Amway tries to do balance the act by having the chain of people who will reduce this wastage and end result is quality products at the lesser price.Hmm…novel cause right….wait but it’s all on the paper..reality is far far away from this.Since year 2000 till now - I have been approached by many Amway folks at grocery shops and elsewhere. These are trained folks and they use these tactics:Hey where are you from. And trust me whatever is your answer- they have some link to that place.Who all are in your family? And trust me whatever is your answer - this becomes their selling pointsWhat are you doing for living? And based on this answer they will have the strategy that why your job or business or whatever you are doing is not fulfilling and risky and you should have another business like Amway which is far long lasting and profitable. Essentially these Amway folks are saving the world in their own wordsNow they will do every thing in the whole world to invite you for breakfast or evening snacks or lunch or dinner or some event to show what is Amway and what all it’s products. They are nagging and so pushy to somehow get you into Amway. Every problem in your life - they have a solution some Amway products. Now if you look at their products these products are at least 3 times to 4 times more expensive than the products in Costco, Walmart of Amazon.com - why??? They say quality…now they will talk about eliminating middle men and advertising etc…this is all B.S. They will push you so hard to get into Amway…by calling you continuously and sending you emails….I found so many Amway folks in Phoenix AZ - life is easy, jobs are stable though not high paying(talking in the context of IT). Most of these folks are working in IT and overpaid(yes, they are doing some co-ordination work and definitely useless extra in their IT projects or company and are too worried about their own job loss and thus into Amway). Most of the times - the poor folks who fall into this Amway trap keep on purchasing the Amway goods and try to trap other folks into Amway. Very unethical and fraud business.I have come across these fellows in India also.My advice - just stay away from Amway - this is total waste of time, efforts and money.

Are MLMs worth it? What are some of the best MLMs?

No, most of them are scams. Amway is the largest and most abusive MLM. Amway has 2 major problems, and most MLMs have at least one of these issues:1. The products are overpriced, which makes them almost impossible to sell to customers and results in Amway being an illegal pyramid, according to the FTC and SEC websites and previous court decisions; and2. The Tool Scam is hidden profit for the top level distributors only, and the vast majority of distributors operate at a net loss as a result. This is RICO fraud. For recent examples, google “FTC” along with the following companies, one at a time: FHTM, BurnLounge, Zeek, TelexFree, Vemma, and Herbalife.
