Oh but Jamba Juice does offer free WiFi! While its not company policy it is up to the individual stores to be WiFi friendly. Our franchise is currently undergoing a "technology upgrade" which will most likely include free WiFi.

Leadership, leadership, leadership....To start with the basics: go to a great undergraduate school (OR be in the very top of your class at a state college/university), get good/great grades, and score near the top on standardized tests. For better or worse, those are table stakes...After that, it is all about leadership. Both of those schools (Full disclosure: I went to HBS, and was rejected by Stanford) are looking for people who are natural leaders and will make a positive impact on the world after they graduate from their school. They each view their students as ambassadors of their brand--if their graduates look good, they look good. And, they want you to look good by leading others.So, in undergrad, that means not just participating in activities, but leading, or even starting new ones. If you play football, be the captain. If you are an environmentalist, organize, lead and have an impact on a large group of people. My perception is that they really do not care what it is, just so you are a strong and capable leader. You may be a genius undergrad physicist at a prestigious university with a dozen papers published in fancy journals, but if you do not demonstrate that you are capable (and, frankly, interested) in LEADING physicists, then HBS and Stanford will not really care.Here are two real-world examples for you. They are both a little extreme, but they both prove the point. The first is more recent: Undergrad at at state University in the South. Dropped out of college to start his own internet-based business. Grew the company to over $50 million in high-margin revenue, over 250 employees, and more than $50 million in venture capital raised, all while remaining CEO, and under the age of 25. Sold the company, and made a pile of money for himself and his investors. HBS accepted him (even though he never got his college degree). Amusing side note: after one year at HBS he left to start another company.Second goes a little farther back, but again is a person I know well: Stanford Undergrad. Football standout. Drafted into the NFL. Played 9 years in the NFL, mostly as a special teams player. In the meantime, he impressed the owners with his unusual intellect, and became friends with several. As a result of those friendships (think:, Wayne Huizenga), he used his money in the off season to first open several Blockbuster Video stores (that used to be a good idea), and then Jamba Juice franchises. Accepted, and graduated from Stanford Business School.Unfortunately, it is a pain in the butt to get into those schools, and at the end of the day, it is often a crap shoot between many excellent candidates.To distinguish yourself early-on, find something you love, be the best at it, and lead others.(All while trying not to be a jerk. Nobody likes someone who is TRYING to show how awesome they are at leading. That is why following your passion, and doing something you love, is an important element.)Have fun, and good luck!

For some weird reason, in many places in Hawaii there’s a good chance that you can find Starbucks and Jamba Juice not just close to each other, but literally, right next door.They both started opening locations in Hawaii about the same time. I’m not sure if they were franchised by the same company or what, but that’s how it turned out, especially in suburban Oahu.
