Ben Carson doesn’t know enough about HUD to really be sure that Trump and Co. couldn’t take advantage of any of its programs (neither do I…but I haven’t been tapped to run it!). Elizabeth Warren was putting him in an obvious trap: make Ben Carson make an eminently reasonable promise in the moment that may turn out to be not true later.Carson’s response was enough to indicate that he realized the danger and wouldn’t make the promise. Of course, that’s fine with Elizabeth Warren who did a good job of exposing Carson’s ignorance and making it look like he’s fine with Trump taking advantage of programs intended to support affordable housing efforts.I’d say that Elizabeth Warren won this exchange.
